Well, after some classic games, we have a little more clarification at the top of the West and East, and will have even more after Bakersfield's Week 9 and 10 games. This is the power ranking so not moving Bakersfield over CCIA just yet.

Nice wins by Louisiana State and LA Bicycle Clowns to jump their week 8 opponents in the polls.

We're getting closer to the point where the bottom teams will be dropped from the power rankings (after they are mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.)

In the West, we have the battle for the no. 2 seed (barring Bakersfield upsetting Mentone Beach next week) between CCIA and Bakersfield. Also a good game to watch is Dallas and Saginaw in a very important tiebreaker game with 5 teams within one game of each other in the standings.

In the East, two very big games involving the #3 through #6 seeds. Should either confirm the current power ranking or show us some changes that need to be made.

That Hogeyes game scares me. I can't decide whether to win with the running game, passing game, ST, or defense?

180... Sorry not happening. We will lose, but it will not be more than 180 let alone 100! Still love the rankings as always bro!

Let me get this straight. You do the powerranking where you place Dirty and Enghave above their opponents and then set the lower ranked opponents as winners in both matches? Especially Enghave vs Phoenix where its #4 and #5. Perhaps the two teams should have been shifted to make sense to your predictions?

Yup. Which is why this is the first time I've ever done predictions.

Whoops, edited. Did these fast but that one was definitely a mistake on my part. Corrected.

If done correctly power ratings should take into account offensive and defensive statistics into the ranking for each team. At the same time taking into account a number of factors like recent performances and strength of schedule. Furthermore, power rankings normally provides an index to compare current or future match-ups between two teams.

Not entering into the discussion between the two different power rankings..

In the Enghave/Phoenix and Dirty/sleepy case, it dosent seems to be any connection between the powerranking and the prediction - made by the same person.

Because there are none. The power ranking is based on statistical information (rosters, team chemistry, W/L vs. common opponents, etc.) I have on the two teams to date. They are the same criteria I've been using for 2 1/2 seasons of power rankings, dating back to USA BBB 11.

The score predictions are a one time, off the cuff prediction for what I think the outcomes of the games today will be.

There is no connection between the two whatsoever.

11-1 in predictions, but awful pretty much in score predictions. Going to leave that one with Sly going forward, I'm ashamed.

Good job Enghave, pulling it out in an offensive shootout vs. Phoenix, proving my power ranking (the one that counts) correct.

Good job by Sleepy Hollow, pulling it out vs. Dirty, going to be a shakeup in the power rankings after that one. Same thing with Saginaw and Dallas.

Good job by Beantown giving Mentone a pretty decent game.
