GG Shanghai Pirates!

Surprises:

Kathmandu takes a major stumble, giving Bangkok their 4th win of the season.

Sumatra takes away Haiphongs TE and their chance at winning. Can Sumatra make a late season play-off push with 6 games remaining? Can the Bucks hold onto their play-off spot as the the standings tighten up?

Vietnam over Bangkok. Very even match on paper so no surprise there, the surprise is that Bangkok had pledged to make the play-offs losing no more than 2 games over the final 7. They now have to go 5-1 and face at least two play-off teams to get there.

Predictions:

Charity Bowl:
Padang over TC Williams

100/0
Kamikaze over Danang- 11 is the magic number, Danang get's their 11th loss and the league's only undefeated team gets its 11th victory.

Sapporo over PP Warriors

Kathmandu over Bein Hoa

Shaolin over Wuhan's "slowly building a slow build" team. Please be sure to notify support at the end of your season that you would like to be moved down if this is your intent.

Karumai over Gobi

Bangalore over Iggles

Aggieland over the Beatdown

Vietnam over Scranton

Hellfighters over Hanoi

90/10
Karawang over Davao

80/20
Phooeys over Bucks

70/30
Sumatra over the Shanghai Pirates

50/50
Vanuatu over PP Kung Fu Pandas (Must see game of the week) -the 2nd and 3rd place tie in Naga will be settled this week. I give the slight edge to Vanuatu because they have the AA veteran's savvy, but will that be enough against the upstart PP KFP?

Patriots over Hokies

Black Knights over Taipei Giant Pandas

Thanks for the 50/50 with the Pandas. The Headhunters are a good team, lead us in more categories than we do them, and out levels us by an average of 10 levels per starter. We will do our best like always, but it does not look good for us especially at 50/50. With our 1 point loss to them earlier in the season Sapporo can be in third slot Tuesday morning

How do the hokies not get a suprise? We lose by 4 to the number one team and you chose them as a 100% chance to win

The Black Knights are a lot better than their record would indicate - they've destroyed the competition in terms of total yardage, but strangely it doesn't reflect that on the scoreboard. The only two teams to win the yardage battle against them have been us and the Hokies.

I agree. We knew going in, just looking a previous results, that they were far better than their record showed. We even created a new defense to try and slow down their passing game....safe to say we had some major issues there! lol Back to the drawing board.

All in all, good, tough opponent. Looking forward to a rematch in the playoffs. GG Knights!

A, I am rarely surprised by more than 3 things in 1 week.

B, if I had listed scores and they were drastically different from what I had expected, that would have been a surprise, but as I had only predicted you would lose and you did, there really is no surprising outcome involved. I know of no professional sport which records "almost" wins.

C, I reserve surprises for the greatest shocks of the week, high ranked Kathmandu and Haiphong losing to sub-top 8 teams is surprising. Bangkok made it because they have guaranteed a play-off spot and shot themselves in the foot the day after making the claim. Had you claimed that Hokies would be within a TD of winning, then yes, I would have been surprised by the outcome.

D, inconsistent teams generally are only surprising if they beat the top team or lose to the worst team.

E, you lost to the #2 team, Kamikaze are 1st in your conference by virtue of beating Vanuatu and 1st in the league by virtue of an undefeated record.

Most teams are better than their records indicate. The record is more a reflection of who has put the effort in and who hasn't. My predictions are combination of looking at which teams are putting forth the effort and have the team to back it up. Congratulations on your win, you guys beat a good team, it is tough to do when coming up from A. That being said, from what I have seen, I'd still pick Kathmandu 10 of 10 times from what I know about them.

Charity bowl? Psssh. The charity is giving them a ride back to the hotel after our fans burn their rusty team bus to the ground. While we don't condone this kind of celebration, we will be giving out a free gallon of gas to the first 5000 fans through the gates.

Much appreciated, I've been saying that all year, but I suppose I'm pretty biased. We've managed to keep games surprisingly close against some of the leagues top talent, but we're still having to search for that magic gameplan every matchup that will allow us to over come the level difference between us and out opponents and close out a game for a win. It's humbling.

GG this week Hokies - your team is better than it's record. I won't say we had an off day, but we didn't execute like we normally do for some reason. You guys were able to jump out early. Luckily our defense was able to keep us in it and we were able to pull it out. Good luck the rest of the way.

GG to you too. I was glad to see the outcome, and cannot wait to hopefully meet you guys in the playoffs.

Captains have played all the top teams in our conference and they have all been tight but the Hong Kong game, we may be a sleeper going forward

I would agree with this, you guys have kept games close, if your schedule is easier from here on out, I'd expect some more victories.
