At the midway point, there is no need to mention who the undisputed #1 team in the OPL is. It appears that that little bit of blood that was in the water was not their own. In fact, it was bait/chum to lure the rest of the OPL into thinking they might be ripe for the taking. Make no mistake, they are as good as ever and have shown so by continuing their unbeaten streak, including a blowout win over a very good WILDDOGS team. Their greatest remaining threat, Cajun Crushers, fell short in their warmup matchup against Mean Machine, silencing any whispers of potential upset. If that game doesnt get you excited, week 10 will also throw undefeated So Cal up against a one loss (undefeated in the Zeta Conference) Banzai team, who, after being swept by So Cal last year, have this game cirlced/stared/highlighted/marked in blood. Also, the Voodoo certainly need mentioning after running through some very good teams these past few weeks to remain unbeaten. Lastly, want to throw out some more props to the new teams this season with 5 teams in the top 15 and the Tigers and Uprising sneaking into the top 10.
Heading into the playoff run, we are still left with several questions... who is the cream of the crop in the Zeta Conference?... will OPL's longest cross-conference rival come to an end with a potential relegation of the Bandits?... after falling even more in the rankings, Will LaShonTell resign with the Gangsters for another season?... will anyone line up across from Crunch Dozer?... get your popcorn ready!!!
