Might as well try to get some chatter started on our side as well. It's the mid-way point of the season, and the top playoff teams are look pretty obvious.

Tuvalu, Urumuqi, Mobile Bay, Knox and SAFSrbija are all locks, Fiji would have been a lock, but they went CPU after a 5-1 start and really opened things up. At this point, Tuvalu is in great shape to stay in the #1 spot the rest of the season, as they've already beaten the PIGS and Mobile Bay, who beat Knox pretty handily.

Tuvalu plays Urumuqi today, so we'll find out if Urumuqi is for real, as last season they drastically underachieved, but have been playing to their potential so far. If Urumuqi pulls out the win, it blows Zeta wide open.

Also today, Mobile Bay hosts THE PIGS, which should be a tightly contested game. THE PIGS haven't gotten the breaks in the first half of the season, but I can't see them getting blown out by anyone.

The PIGS are a great team, but lost all 3 early games against top-level competetors, and were then upset recently by PENRITH in the CAPS-LOCK BOWL, but I can't see them missing the playoffs, call them the 6th sure-thing.

The last two spots are still up for grabs, as PENRITH, Papua New Guinea, Alabama (who is handicapped having played a full-strength-pre-CPU Fiji team) and Kingston (only team of the 4 that won their inter-conference game) all have a shot at getting in. I have to think it'll be PENRITH and PNGC, but there's a huge game today between Kingston and PNGC that'll factor in heavily.

I'd have to consider it an upset if Kingston wins today, but they need it if they want a palyoff spot, as with 5 losses and PNGC, Alabama, Urumuqi and Tuvalu still on their schedule, they'll need to win at least one of those, all the rest, and if PNGC wins this game, that's the tiebreaker if both finish 8-8. The Cubs also have a very tough second half schedule, still having to play 3 playoff locks, and all 3 teams they're fighting with for one of the last 2 spots. At least they control their own destiny?

Don't remind me.

I think we're going to end up either 10 - 6 or 9 - 7, personally. We might make it to 11 - 5 if I can manage to get my arms around some of the offensive AI bits that are causing me trouble, but that's a best-case scenario imo.

the bombers handled the PIGS pretty easily today, but we really put a lot in it since they beat us last year. its going to be a good fight for seeding with the top 5 teams all having a single loss. should be fun!!

Yeah, Urumuqi's win today is huge for blowing Zeta wide open, and scares the crap out of me cause we play them in 2 days. It's a shame they lost their inter-conference game (to the #3 alpha team, eww), makes us look kinda sad over here.

I dunno what's up with the PIGS... definitely not like them to go down so easily (losing coaching morale?), but maybe the Bombers are just that much better than the rest of us who got taken down to the wire by them...

As for the Cubs, you guys are in great shape to get in now, and might even be able to steal one from the PIGS if they don't get their act cleaned up. If you can keep as close as you did against us, you can definitely play with the PIGS.

Today's menu has the Dynasty visiting Knox, with a side of PIGS at Cubs. For dessert, PENRITH gunning for an even bigger upset as they host Mobile Bay.

Wow... surprised we were able to take out Urumuqi without too much trouble today... and looks like the PIGS got back on track with a win over the Cubs. Mobile Bay left no doubt against PENRTH.

Week 11 is a soft week for the playoff locks, but the 4 teams vying for the last 2 spots all play each other as Alabama hosts Kingston and PENRITH visits Papua New Guinea.

I'm taking the Cubs and Kingston to win.

Looks like I should have been wrong on both counts, as the Cubs pretty much stole one from PENRITH in an absolutely crazy game today.

PENRITH out-gained the Cubs by 150 yards on offense, but also turned the ball over 5 times via fumbles and INT's, and twice going for it on 4th and goal. Because of those turnovers, PENRITH got behind by 21 points early in the 4th quarter, and managed a ridiculous comeback to tie it, and then a forced fumble and recovery at the end of the game when the Cubs had it in FG position to send the game to overtime. PENRITH got the overtime kickoff and marched into FG position, and DAVID BECKHAM choked on a 45-yarder. The Cubs got their shit together at that point and won the game with a 50-yarder... heartbreaker for PENRITH.

Alabama also won their game with Kingston with a game-winning TD in the final 2-minutes in another tightly-contested game... though not nearly as dramatic as the game-of-the-day.

PENRITH is a good team, sad to see almost all the A league teams from last struggling. At least Fighting Maori and Drunk Fu in alpha is repping good enough.

It's never easy to move up without a ton of recruiting. EEA didn't even make the playoffs last season.

So, week 12 had Mobile Bay beating down SAFSrbija in a statement game, and THE PIGS beating Alabama in the only other game this week between Zeta playoff contenders.

Things start to heat up over the last 4 weeks though, especially next week. Week 13 has Tuvalu hosting SAFSrbija, Mobile Bay visiting the Cubs, PIGS at Dynasty and Alabama hosting PENRITH; which accounts for all by Knox among remaining Zeta playoff contenders.

Tuvalu still controls their own destiny, and with SAFSrbija coming off a nasty loss, they'll probably be giving this one their all, trying to stay in the race for a first round home game. Tuvalu is clearly the favorite in this one.

Mobile Bay should beat the Cubs by a long-shot, but you never know...

PIGS at Dynasty is a tough call... with the way the two teams have played so far this season, Dynasty has to be favored, as the PIGS have just not showed up in the big games.

Probably the biggest game this week is PENRITH at Alabama, as these are the two teams left fighting for that last playoff spot. an OUTLAWS victory would seal the deal for them to get in, as two of their last 3 games are against cupcakes, but an Alabama win wouldn't eliminate the OUTLAWS, as Alabama would still need to upset Papua New Guinea in week 16 to make the playoffs. I have PENRITH as relatively safe favorites in this one.

Uhh, yea. I don't even think that's up for debate at this point.
