Skoll Wolfrun, 777 Sports. Back from my visit to Dr. Moreau's Asylum & Liquor Store,
he states that my nervous tick & deep seated paranoia have been cured with large
amounts of Wild Turkey & a human - chimpanzee brain transplant. I could really use
some bananas, but on to sports! AAAAA.
This could be an upset week, imo. With 6 of the top 8 teams facing off, this may be
a telling week on where the playoff contenders stand & if some of the teams currently
sitting outside of the bubble can make some gains towards breaking into the top 8.
5 Amsterdam Chronic Crusaders, 6-2-0, L1 @ 2 Bavarian Motor Works, 7-1-0, W4
Amsterdam has dropped a close game to The Crusaders & more convincingly to The Evil
Empire, I see the Chronic Crusaders as puzzling after winning over Olympus & a few
other teams.
After the shootout loss to the Frankfurt Thundercats in week 4, the car guys have
been rolling up the victories. While being "out leveled" on paper, BMW has taken
care of business...
The Projection: Amsterdam 33 - BMW 40
The Final Score: Amsterdam Chronic Crusaders wrecked Bavarian Motor Works in the Autobahn 57 to 41
7 Olympus Immortals, 5-3-0, L2 @ 3 London Rippers, 7-1-0, W1
The Immortals have been less than their godly names as of late after losses at
Regensburg & hosting the Diamond Crusaders. They hope to reverse their current
fortunes, but the London Rippers have been a tough nut to crack this season.
The lone Ripper loss to Amsterdam saw 10 pts rolled up by the Chronic in the
final 2:30.
The Projection: Olympus 32 - London 35 OT
The Final Score: London Rippers slashed a few Olympus Immortals throats 37 to 24
13 Douai Sharks, 1-7-0, W1 @ 4 Icelandic Vikings, 7-1-0, W5
Douai has not been getting the bounces this season despite having a talented roster.
Their lone win coming over a bottom dwelling Ricebird team, but their losses
to talented Regensburg, Diamond Crusaders, & Evil Empire have all been a TD or
less.
The Vikings have kept all their wins close. With bigger wins over the lowly
Ricebirds & Moose, BMW was the only team to show a gameplan that the Vikings
were unable to rape & pillage so far this season.
The Projection: Douai 24 - Vikings 34
The Final Score: Icelandic Vikings over the Douai Sharks 42 to 17
16 Schiffertown Griffin's, 0-8-0, L28 @ 8 The Evil Empire, 5-3-0, W5
The Empire gets to blow up a few planetary stats this week.
The Projection: Griffins 0 (why break their scoreless streak now?) - Empire 200
The Final Score: The Evil Empire went to Schiffertown and proceeded to blast everything 238 to 0
9 Italian Stallions, 4-4-0, L1 @ 12 The Forsaken, 2-6-0, W1
While I would like to say both the Stallions & Forsaken are coming off the toughest
part of their respective schedules, the lack of a clear cut set of domination teams
makes that tough to do. A top end passing attack has kept the Stallions in 3 of their
4 losses while 2 of the Forsaken losses were TD or less affairs. This game could
bounce either direction.
The Projection: Stallions 30 - Forsaken 27
The Final Score: The Forsaken failed to find the end zone against the Italian Stallions 0 to 12
14 Palmer Moose, 1-7-0, L1 @ 10 Frankfurt Thundercats, 3-5-0, L3
Palmer has been unable to get their Offense to move the ball consistantly or their
Defense to stop the ball effectively this season outside of their Win over El Campo.
4 of 5 Frankfurt losses were by 2 TD or less. Not a great margin, but a timely
INT & O drive would turn a few of those Loses into Wins.
The Projection: Palmer 23 - Frankfurt 26
The Final Score: Frankfurt Thundercats ate well against the Palmer Moose 73 to 37
11 Milan Cock Fighters, 2-6-0, L6 @ 15 El Campo Ricebirds, 0-8-0, L10
Milan posted a few cake walk Wins, but have not been able to force a close game
otherwise. Even posting the #2 Pass Offense with over 2,000 yards in only 8 games
has not proven to be enough. The should be able to air out a Win here before facing
some of their tougher opponents in the coming weeks.
While I would think El Campo could put a few more points on the board for this game,
I have not seen enough to make me believe they will.
The Projection: Milan 44 - El Campo 19
The Final Score: El Campo Ricebirds lost to Milan Cock Fighters 13 to 83
6 Regensburg Steel Rain, 6-2-0, W3 @ 1 The Diamond Crusaders, 8-0-0, W8
The Diamond Crusaders has shown the league that they are the team to beat
so far this season. After a close game at Amsterdam that they pulled out a Win in
the last 2:00, they threw up a convincing 40-6 drubbing of Olympus. This week the
host a good Regensburg team that lost by only 7 to the same Amsterdam team. IMO,
this could be another 2:00 Warning game.
The Projection: Regensburg 24 - Diamond 30
The Final Score: In a special post game interview of the The Diamond Crusaders win over Regensburg
Steel Rain 28 to 20, here is Hati Wolfrun
