Okay here are the rankings after game 8. Here is what I went by in no particular order:
1) Record or win/loss
2) Strength of roster
3) Strength of wins/losses
You may or may not agree with them, but this is how I see them. LW is last weeks ranking.
****ZETA POWER RANKINGS****
#1 Istanbul Hell Hounds (8-0) LW 1 - Well make no mistake about it. The Hell Hounds are definitely the tops in the first half of the season in Zeta. Going undefeated so far and getting wins over Short Bus, Amsterdam and Luzitian, they proved they could beat all takers. They have a much tougher 2nd half with 6 of their last 8 opponents at .500 or better and capable of giving them quite a few scares.
1st Half Grade: A+ - I was going to give them an A because of the weak 1st half schedule and the Boracs took them to the limit in the last game. But they are a very good team and did get a win over the Dynasty and my 2nd team, Short Bus. And being a former BBB team and play as well as they have, I figure it deserves that extra +.
Next opponent: #13 Las Vegas Bandits (1-7)
#2 Macedonia Trojans (7-1) LW 2 - HB Parkers Willie and SS Eric Draven are two Trojan stand outs that have made huge impacts in Trojan wins. Their schedule evens out in the second half. Playing 4 .500 or better teams and 4 teams under .500, they could claim the #1 spot if they can keep winning. Huge showdown for them in Game 16 against Istanbul. What a way to close the season out.
1st Half Grade: A+ - Four of their first half games were against teams that are .500 or better and they went 3-1 against those teams. They have had a great 1st half.
Next opponent: at #10 Greek Gods (3-5)
#3 Banja Luka Funky Bunch (7-1) LW 4 - The Funky Bunch are in the midst of a 5 game stretch against teams .500 or better, winning two so far. Five big games still loom ahead in the second half for them yet. Knossos, Macedonia and the Gods are all up next in a row.
1st Half Grade: A+ - Going 7-1 and getting a win over the Mambas was a lot more than expected for the Funky Bunch. Giving them that extra +.
Next opponent: #5 Knossos Minotaurs (6-2)
#4 Wroclaw Mambas (6-2) LW 5 - A seventh win is up next for the Mambas, gift wrapped by the Transatlantic Devils. But after that is a huge match up against the Hell Hounds.
1st Half Grade: B - Two losses to former BBB teams is not what I expected, but they are still contenders.
Next opponent: at #15 Transatlantic Devils (2-6)
#5 Knossos Minotaurs (6-2) LW 3 - The Minotaurs have an even schedule with 4 tough games in each half of the schedule. They went 2-2 against those teams in the first half. Short Bus, Hell Hounds, Gods and Funky Bunch still remain on their schedule and they will need to go better than 2-2 to keep moving up.
1st Half Grade: A - An A for getting a win over the Dynasty and a close loss to the Mambas.
Next opponent: at #3 Banja Luka Funky Bunch (7-1)
#6 Short Bus All-Stars (6-2) LW 6 - Short Bus has a tough second half ahead of them and going 1-2 against .500 or better teams in the first half means they have a lot of work cut out for them.
1st Half Grade: B+ - Losing two of their three big games in the first half hardly impresses, but the fact they are a former BBB team helps give them a +.
Next opponent: #14 Renegades of Funk (1-7)
#7 Luzitian Dynasty (5-3) LW 8 - They got the majority of their tough games out of the way and only have three meaningful games left on the schedule. Ten wins is almost a definite, but they need to score a win or two against Short Bus, Macedonia and Wroclaw in the second half of the season.
1st Half Grade: B- - Didn't expect them to lose two games to former BBB teams.
Next opponent: at #16 Warsaw Mafia (0-8)
#8 The Gods (5-3) LW 7 - These guys can beat the weak teams,but have yet to beat a team above .500 and they have five .500+ teams left to play in the second half of the schedule. If they keep that pace it could be tough for these guys to crack the play offs, even with a 5-3 record right now.
1st Half Grade: B - I gave them a B for going 5-3, but they have yet to get a win over a winning team.
Next opponent: #9 Pirgos Warlords (4-4)
#9 Pirgos Warlords (4-4) LW 9 - Well the Warlords got the tough half of the schedule out of the way and went 4-4. They have at least 5 or 6 wins they can pick up in the second half and make the play offs.
1st Half Grade: B- - They are a solid team, and should really have a better second half.
Next opponent: at #8 The Gods (5-3)
#10 Greek Gods (3-5) LW 10 - Well the Greek Gods have gone slow build and the rest of the season is an automatic win for everyone else. Thank you Greek Gods.
1st Half Grade: C- -

#11 Vancouver Jive Turkeys (2-6) LW 11 - Bad news is they suck. Good news is they are probably the best of the bottom feeders club.
1st Half Grade: D+ - Don't know what to tell you.

#12 Banja Luka Boracs (1-7) LW 12 - Boracs, Bandits and Funk! Oh my! Weird thing is I still think these three teams will tie each other and lose the rest of their games.
