Western, EU - While the WEA#3 league resides in silence, one notable exception was head coach Merlin Olsen of the Belgrade Bomb Squad, who had some comments on Amsterdam Pirates, weeks after the Wicklow Warriors had beaten the Pirates 17-13. An arrogant comment was made by the Pirate's head coach wannaknow147
?Without wanting to sound cocky,? Wannaknow147 said. ?I rate ourselves higher then Valencia, and they've beat us, with a funky ass tactic that won't work a second time, that has to be said?
Pirate's defensive coordinator had some comments also.
"Wicklow had no passing game, their odd (and clever) switcharoo rush kept their RB's energy high and pounded the weakness they saw in my defense, along with the very cliche abuse of the strong I slam.
A few switches here and there, and their narrow rushing varieties can be shutdown, and their passing game would still be a non-issue.
Offensively for us, we made one change with a player and it showed. After that loss, the offense's lowest score has been 34.
So nah, I don't think they could beat us again." Plax said
Coach Merlin Olsen had a few comments to back up the Warriors.
"Id bet on the Wicklow Warriors to beat the Pirates again all day any day ,? Merlin OIsen said. ?Wicklow has a slightly better ranked pass attack than the Pirates(13th v 14th ranked)...
and they damn sure have a more effective defense.... The Pirates should quit talking about how good their offense is against lower leveled teams. It doesn't mean much. If they are going to talk, they should do it on the scoreboard, preferably the playoffs."
