Heh. The Samoa Gangsters get trounced 41-14, while we (Grinnell) win our game 54-3, and yet they jump over us. LOL

Samoa didn't lose this week. They beat an extremely strong top tier opponent. Thats the genius in these power rankings. No emotional bs. Its just on winning percentage and strength of schedule.

Grinnell hasn't played any team over 6 wins. Samoa has beaten 4 teams with 7 wins or better without facing the 1-9, 0-10 patsies all year.

Don't hate the rankings, hate your conference.

if Grinnell goes undefeated they will no doubt be #1 on the list.

Well I must have clicked on the wrong team. My mistake. My entire premise was based on that error. I wouldn't call that a burn, though. I was chuckling about it. Other than that, I do think our schedule has been weak, but that's not exactly our fault, either.

Either way, it doesn't matter. The playoffs are what matters, not these power rankings. That's why I LOL'd - it's meaningless anyway. Look what Pittsburgh did last season.

Grinnell hasn't played any 7 win teams, but we have beaten five 6-win teams. That's not exactly weak. And we've still yet to play the higher ranked teams, but they're on the schedule.

And how, exactly, is it our fault that our games against tougher teams just happened to be scheduled late? You won't be bragging so much in a few weeks.

I never said it was your fault. However, you guys are tooting your horn after your early season run. You act like you have been playing a bugle when it obviously compares moreso to a jazz flute. That is the beauty of etonblue's matrix rankings. It takes the emotion out of it. Sorry your emotion is still in it.

Respect comes through your tests. Hope to respect you soon.

In Grinnel's defense, once they play the two other undefeated teams in their conference their oppenents record will probably be much harder than ours. Like he said, however, its the playoffs that matter and hopefully we'll have a chance to play it out then.

Isn't part of the markup of a good team that they do what they're expected to against lesser teams? They've dominated the teams they've played so far. It's not like they played 40-59-1 and came out of it at .500 with some close wins. They've made the most of their opportunities.. I'm not sure you can take anything away from them just because their opportunities haven't been the same as the opportunities other teams had.

As someone from Grinnell already said, they haven't beaten any 7 win teams but they have beaten 6 win teams. Those 6 win teams have records of 6-3 outside of their game against Grinnell. I think beating 5 teams (half of their schedule so far) that are 6-3 is pretty good.
