I'll admit, I'm definitely proud of this build. I do NOT have custom EQ. My base speed is 68.96.
My plans are to build him for the LONG-term. This means I'll sacrifice some short-term productivity and stats in order to build a player that will DOMINATE when he gets into his 30s and 40s. Any suggestions on where I go from here?
I'm definitely going to soft-cap agility first, but after that should I go for the 4th cap in speed or hard-cap agility? I'm building for the long-term, so I am willing to forgo some current GLB "prosperity' in favor of building for the future. I am considering buying custom EQ, which I'd put into speed or speed/agility.
For the long term, should I split EQ between speed and agility 50-50 or 75-25 or...?
Other than the obvious two SAs, which SAs are really worth it for CBs (ie: shutdown coverage is great, but it costs a lot because it's the fifth skill...). What I'm thinking of investing in around level 25 or so are first step, quick cut, swat ball, sticky hands, and super vision. I won't need Return Spec. and Blitz because I plan on being the #1 CB on whatever team I go to, and I won't need closing speed because I'll be faster than 95% of WRs I face (I hope to have base speed of 77 by the time I start getting VAs at level 25 and hopefully have or be close to a base level of 68 agility).
Of course, in the meantime, I'll be training jumping, catching, vision, etc. with the intention of capping those after I've "plateaued" my speed and agility to the point where I just let them increase with the level increments gained with each new level. First priority as far as training goes is to train vision to a "usable" level of 35-40 or so (remember, I'll still be in BBBs and I am building for the LONG-term) by training jumping/vision, then go on to training jumping/tackling until jumping is 30 once vision is to 35-40s. This will all happen via training and will not involve the use of any SPs.
Step-by-step, my plan looks like this:
SPs:
1. Soft-cap agility
2. 4th-cap speed
3/4. Either: 5th-cap speed or Hard-cap agility (I know what you're thinking: go ahead and hard-cap agility, right? Well... In terms of taking advantage of the caps, I'd get more benefit from 5th capping speed because I'd be able to do it 6 SPs earlier because the difference between 4th and 5th cap is less than the difference between soft and hard caps.)
5. 3rd-cap agility
Training:
1. Tackling/jumping until tackling is at least 20.
2. Vision/jumping until vision is 35-40ish.
3. Jumping/tackling until jumping is 30ish.
4. Either catching/vision or catching/jumping until catching is 25-30ish.
So, in summary, at level 25-26 I want my player's BASE stats to look at LEAST like this:
77 Speed (88-99 with EQ -- With any range of 11-22 EQ points in it depending on if I buy FPs for custom EQ and how I decide to split up my EQ)
68 Agility (68-79 with EQ -- a range of 0-11 EQ points depending on if I get custom EQ and how I allocate my EQ)
35-40ish Vision
30-35 Jumping
25-30 Catching
Of course, these are all rough estimates because it's so difficult to guage everything into a formula that can take into account the VAST number of variables (the most difficult to measure being time of course ).
I realize I haven't been very brief and to the point, but I want you to get a thorough idea of where I plan on going with my player. If you've got experience with building CBs or you're just all-around knowledgeable on all that is the GLB phenomenon, I'd love to hear some input on my current build, my future build, and any other tactical advice you could give me that will help me to be the best CB I can be.
Thanks!
