Why, with tactics at 65 power did my player run out of bounds on this play?... It would have been my fourth PR for TD of the game...

then again why was the punter a GUARD?

That is odd. But then if you look, the Offense listed is actually the opposite team, same for Defense. The PR and players below are Vampires, and the opposite side are actually Jumpers. Great Wall's roster doesn't have a Kicker or Punter, no idea why, but that explains the guard as a punter, I guess.
