1) Hawaii Phoenixes – I can finally at least contribute something more than hype about this Hawaii team after their dismantling of the Drillers. It was a smothering effort that all of Zeta expected the Phoenixes to provide. Although they are #1 I think the top four teams in Zeta have the chance to ruin any perfect run plans they may have. Geelong is next for Hawaii who will handle business to keep their undefeated streak alive. I only see 3 teams in Zeta with a chance to unseed them.
2) Gold Coast Vipers – 68-22 win over Geelong. Wow, that was a beating like non we have seen over a playoff team this season. Geelong limped away with a sore ass and some wounded pride this week. Gold Coast must be on steroids because last season the league had fun beating them up and down the field even though they out leveled most teams, but this season they have vengeance on their collective minds. CPU Melbourne is next, so that keep them undefeated at 8-0.
3) Auckland Titans – After winning 3 scary close games against good teams, they had the Sharks on the schedule who no longer appear to be a off week for the bonus teams as they stunned Hamilton last week. Next week they go on the road to Sack for what appears to be a slugfest.
4) – Sack Sabbath –50-34 win over Orlando. In a similar fashion win that Auckland had earlier this season, Sack scored at will but also gave up substantial points and yards to the Bolts. I think two very evenly matched teams face off next game when Auckland comes to town. I like Sack by a slim margin in this game solely because of the home field advantage bonus that “I think we think” exists
5) Death Riders –The Death riders are quietly sneaking up the rankings and sit at number 5 in both the power rankings and the league rankings. Nothing much to talk about when you beat someone 100-0 but a win is a win for the Riders. This week they have to play a playoff team, so they will look to solidify their position.
6) Orlando Lightning Bolts – Lost to Sack Sabbath. Wasn’t a horrible loss, but didn’t show much signs of any pass defense. A lot of it could be attested to the level difference. Orlando looks to rebound this week against the Death Riders in what looks to be a good game.
7) Texas Drillers – The drillers just keep getting their shit pushed in. Their schedule was retarded hard in the front half, but they should stack some wins on the way out to a low playoff seed.
8) Geelong – Geelong also got jailhouse shower raped this week. They really need a nice soft game to rebuild their confidence, but they get Hawaii who is almost a lock to win.
9) Hamilton Hellcats – Beat a CPU and have another basement dweller coming up next. That means more sacks for Toronto Hitman who is just destroying slow tackles.
