Rk- Team----------record---------Last ranking------next game-----final games--write up

-----Top of the mountain-------

#1 Montreal Rulers------------------(6-0)-----(1)--------#15 RC Gladiators-----This team is truly on top of the mountain. 4 out of the 6 games that they have played is against teams that are currently 5-1. There is no question what-so-ever that this team is the best in the conference right now and in my opinion the best in the league. GG Rulers through 3 quarters I thought we had a shot at taking you out.

-----2nd level teams-------

#2 Chilliwack Fighting Flapping Heads--(5-1)--------(3)-----#9 USAORG Eagles------Easy win and now they are back into the second spot as they played the Rulers closer than the Hunters did.
#3 Yellowknife Eskimo Hunters---(5-1)-----(2)-------#7 Montreal Mutants------The Hunters suffered their first loss on the season. They scored on 7 of 10 possessions, but the problem was it was all FGs. That was the first time they have been held without a TD since their first season in season 5 against the Redbirds when we could only muster 3 points.
#4 Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen----(5-1)--------(4)------#6 Hogwarts Wizards-----This is a solid team that can beat anybody in this conference. They remain in 4th for 2 reasons. 1.) Their loss is to the Hunters, who are in 3rd. 2.) The best team they have beaten is the Cardinal Redbirds who at best might make the playoffs as an 8th seed. Hogwarts is a solid team and this would be good win for them.
#5 Port Royal Acadians------------(5-1)----(5)----#12 New Colgne Bears--------Port Royal beat up on the Mutants and the score does not reflect how great of a job they actually did. Because of that performance I am over looking the Rulers game and moving them back in this category. Should be able to cruise with 3 easy wins going into the Heads game.

--------Bottom Playoff teams----------

#6 Hogwarts Wizards-----------(4-2)-----(6)-------#4 Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen-----The Direwolves almost shocked the Wizards. They better fix their problems and quick with RCKY next on the plate.
#7 Montreal Mutants---------(4-2)------(7)---------------#3 Yellowknife Eskimo Hunters------They didn't let the game against Port Royal get out of hand. but they didn't win it either. Another tough test with the Hunters is up next.

-----Battle for the 8th spot-------

#8 Cardinal Redbirds--------(3-3)--(10)-------#10 Saskatoon Fighting Gamecocks-------The battle for 8th continues to be interesting. The Redbirds fought their way to victory against the Eagles and have earned them a spot in 8th again. The Gamecocks are next and have a shot at clouding the water up some more.
#9 USAORG Eagles--------------(3-3)------(8)------#2 Chilliwack Fighting Flapping Heads-------------That was a big loss for this team. They had almost a 100 more yards than the Redbirds, but 3 ints with 2 returned for TDs and the other happening in the Red Zone is just killers. It will be a rough 4 game stretch for this team coming up.
#10 Saskatoon Fighting Gamecocks--(2-4)---(11)---#8 Cardinal Redbirds---------This is it for the Gamecocks. A win puts them in the 8th spot talks and win will probably have them ranked 8th next rankings. A loss will drop them out of playoff talks altogether.
#11 Medicine Hat Mavericks------(2-4)-----(12)------#16 Ottawa Jaguars------The win over the Bears now gets them mentioned for that 8th spot. They still have to play their toughest competition for it with the Redbirds, Eagles, and Gamecocks still on the schedule they better have those games circled. Take off this week though because you have a bye.
#12 New Colgne Bears--------(2-4)----(9)-----#5 Port Royal Acadians------That was a big loss. It will be very very difficult for this team to make the playoffs now. They need to pull an upset or 2 or hope for help from the teams above them.

----------The playoffs seem to be out of reach-------------

#13 Manitoba Direwolves------------(1-5)-----(13)---#14 Vancouver Northern Lights-------------A chance to pick up a second win against the Lights.
#14 Vancouver Northern Lights----(1-5)-------(14)-------#13 Manitoba Direwolves-------Picked up the first win on the season and now will have a chance to make it 2 in a row.

------Headed down to BBB-----

#15 RC Gladiators---------------(0-6)--------(15)------#1 Montreal Rulers---------Had a good showing against the lights, but still lost. They have given it their all and should look pretty good next season in BBB.
#16 Ottawa Jaguars------------(0-6)--------(16)------#11 Medicine Hat Mavericks------------Bye week is for the Mavs.

Games of the week:

#8 Cardinal Redbirds (3-3) vs #10 Saskatoon Fighting Gamecocks (2-4) - neither one of these teams are marque names in this league right now, but both suffer chemistry issues and can give the top teams fits come playoff time. This week there is not a better game on the schedule for my money.

#4 Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen (5-1) vs #6 Hogwarts Wizards (4-2) - RCKY has not beaten any high quality teams yet and Hogwarts with the chance to fall to 4-3 could be an also ran. This is a big game for both teams here today to see where they stand.

wooohooo.. Look at that. We've officially moved up to "battling for the 8th spot". 5 Teams fighting for that last spot. It's going to be an exciting season.
