I'd heard it had been done in previous seasons, just seeing if anybody would be interested in organizing this.

I sure as hell don't want to organize the thing, but I'll help. I think the best way to do it is have each team nominate 5 of their own players and 5 players NOT on their team (the numbers can change). Then we break things down based solely on stats, taking competition into consideration. I think after we have a quality ballot broken down by position and conference and showing stats, we can put it all up to a league vote, each team having the same number of votes.

I used to organise the Zeta one. Never worked. People either didnt nominate/vote or made stupid picks on defense based totally on number of tackles instead of useful stuff like sacks and picks. Then we tried the ProBowlScore script. That was worse as it gave too much value to again stupid shit like tackles for CBs and less for PDs etc.

If anyone does it it should be a non-playoff owner as frankly if youre going to the playoffs you dont have the time for this.

Well maybe if we could come up wit an overall criteria for nomination per position we could avoid the past problems.

I like the idea of having a pro bowl. I myself dont want to do this. Most of the time I have seen these done, its almost always been a popularity contest, or players that have had cupcake teams all season. For this to be real effective, we would really have to base this on stats vs quality competition. Like for example, my team has already played and beaten the top 5 in our conference. Not too many teams have even played the top 5 much less have beaten them, so our stats obviously are not as great as other players. For example, my HB has roughly 1100 total yards through 7 games, by no means am I the best in this league, but I think I have had decent success against some real quality teams. Where as, I wont give any examples, but a lesser player may not have done as well in the same position, and I am sure there are lesser talented HBs with a lot better stats than what I have, just because they played teams of lesser talent.

But then again, what fun is it having a pro bowl when there isnt any controversial inductees, sometimes I think its more fun reading local papers from various teams that bitch and gripe about their teams star player being snubbed from the pro bowl. Makes for some real good entertainment IMO

Just to clarify what I am saying, my last game against the Giant Pandas, I had great stats. But my game against the Headhunters, I only had decent stats at best, only getting 3.7 ypc. But that was far more satisfying for me because I think those hard fought yards were more instrumental in beating them than the beating I dished out against the Giant Pandas

You should nominate coordinators too.

It's not Pro Bowl voting so much as it is selecting All-Pro teams (or in our case All-AA). I could be wrong, but a "pro bowl" game has never been played in GLB.

Semantics, I know.

I've always thought that a web vote for each position would work better, for at least getting people to vote. Personally, I'm far more likely to click some buttons than spend 60 mins typing in a player for each position, after researching them.

Of course, that still doesn't solve who's nominated.

I hope the voting system is far more reliable than Floridas system

Yeah otherwise well have a GLB wide recession in a few seasons time.

Why didnt we just nuke Florida for letting that incompetent twunt in anyway? All they give the world is shitty theme parks, orange juice and enough old people shitting all over the place to melt the ozone layer with the methane.

I figure maybe some of the vets could suggest certain criteria that would have to be met for a nomination to even be valid. Like say a DE now this is for example if there's about 8-10 guys with 12 or more sacks make the criteria a twelve sack minimum. Then other things such as if they were quality stats per say against an opponant that wasn't just like playing a computer team when big numbers were put up. I would volunteer to do this if you guys would help me come up with fair criteria for each position to warrent a nomination.

Or could simply exclude stats accumulated from games that result in a 100 point spread...or so
