this is the best line of ericmn entire post for week five. i cannot believe how tough every one of these teams are. it has made for one tough conference.

if makes winning sweeter and losing more frustrating but educational. not only do we have rivalries with teams, there are multiple players on other teams i remember now. in fact, i have made build adjustments my players to help deal with containing individual players from other teams.

i am looking forward to games that aren't even my team. i have respect for almost every team in this conference. as hard as i try, i cant respect CPU teams.

it's fun playing you guys.

I think these guys were not from A5 but they were an expansion team that started out in A something. They are now Pros now. addddddum's team the Alexandria Greats are pretty good they came from A5.

The Season 5 Africa A5 Lion Conference and where they are now:

Mozambique Chiefs (RIP - quit on promotion to AA after Season 5 - coward)
Alexandria Greats (now AAA1)
Zambezi Silverbacks (AA3)
Madagascar Serpent Eagles (AA3)
The Most Esteemed and Blessed Ashanti Empire of Ghana (AA3)
Zimbabwe Dragons (RIP - folded after Season 6)
Richards Bay Raging Racists (RIP - quit during Season 7 in AA3)
Quiçama Park Rangers (Perfect A5 Season 6, AA3)
African Fever (Perfect A5 Season 7, AA3)
Gabon Glocks (RIP a couple weeks ago, AA3)
Comoros Killer Whales (AA3)
Virunga Okapi (RIP - mid-season 6, A5)
Djibouti Cobras (punked out and switched to SEA after Season 5)
West Nile Mosquitos (currently undefeated, A5)
South African Ratels (AA3)
Namibia Tigers (RIP Season 6, A5)

That's 11 teams from one conference that have promoted out within three seasons. That's what I call a stud conference. And just for the sake of not having things easy, my inter-conference game that season was vs. the Cairo Cougars, who went into the championship game that season undefeated and just a couple weeks ago committed Hari Kari in AA3 Elephant.

Yes, children, Darthy Pinky still contends it's the Single Toughest Expansion Conference Ever Assembled To Our Collective Knowledge ®.

we may be together a lot longer than we think. on my other team we scrimmaged a USA Single A league team. they were a 57. there is only so much room in the higher leagues and as more and more teams join, country divisions and levels expand, Double A will be a league B to B3 teams will strive to get to.

fat danny and i were just looking at USA Pro rosters, we are not too many player levels behind the top undefeated team. of course, they would likely kill us, but i believe our league is lot tougher than the AA teams were two seasons ago. and in two seasons from now it is likely the teams then will have to be overall level 60's just to get in.

lol. it'll be like old times but i just don't have the spare time on my hands! coordinating for a half dozen teams and trying to get the Fredericksburg into USA A4 is tough going.

maybe next season.. just maybe

Boo hoo hoo. Next thing you're going to say is "at some point I have a life outside GLB" and I'm really not going to feel sorry for you.

I agree with everyone. A5 has got to be the greatest A league ever. Easily the best in Africa. We constantly produce top notch winning teams. Last season A3 was all jumping and shouting (we're the best A league in Africa! We have the most competitive teams out of any league!) but when we (AFRICAN FEVER) entered the Africa A tournament, we single handedly dismantled every A3 team we faced by 20+ points. We lost a close game in the championship to I believe A2 Somalia Shango in what was probably the worst offensive game plan ever put together lol. Although it was just a stupid scrimmage so that makes sense. I don't think any conference in Africa is more competitive than AA3 Lion. There is no huge drop off in the top teams, any given week anybody in the top 10 can win
