We have co-Games of the Week this week, featuring 4 undefeated teams:

Picks record so far: 15-1

Maine Hawks v Houghton Gremlins
Maine basically had a bye week while Houghton put together a defensive tour de force against Buffalo, featuring 3 pick 6s. Maine has a massive win streak, but mostly in BBB, while Houghton beat Buffalo much more impressively than Maine. Scouting bars seem to favor Houghton as well, however this one is an absolute toss-up. I'll show my homerism and pick Maine 35, Houghton 31.

Montana Grizzlies v Red River Chiefs
Montana delivered a spanking to Pittsburgh while the Chiefs outgunned the Hammerheads in what is the game of the year thus far. Both teams have looked really impressive and neither has any holes to speak of. It is difficult to compare across seasons, but Montana thrashed the Hammerheads last season. This will come down to what I think are a few key matchups in the trenches and to game planning, but is another virtual tossup. Red River 31, Montana 28.

OTHER GAMES:

Miami Makos v Buffalo Beasts
The Makos are the last of the undefeated teams, but probably not the least. They stepped on the throat of a pretty good Manhattan team. Buffalo was on the wrong end of a defensive scoring spree by Houghton, but they are not to be taken lightly. The difference here will be the Makos' nice advantage in the trenches on both sides of the ball unless Buffalo can somehow negate that with speed. Miami 42, Buffalo 21.

Miami Hammerheads v Vice City Mambas
Miami is a wounded animal and probably pissed off at their loss to Red River. Vice City made a nice recovery from their rivalry game loss against Atlanta by beating Da NOLA like a rented mule. The Hammerheads are the only 60 overall rated team in the East right now, for whatever that is worth, while Vice City has a nice advantage in their receiving corps and QB. While I like the Mambas' high flying offense, I expect the Hammerheads to play like their namesake. Miami 31, Vice City 24.

Da NOLA Brah!!! K&B Purples v Dakota Bison
Da NOLA is smarting from the way the Mambas just treated them, so it's time for them to repay the favor to someone else. Da NOLA 180, Dakota 0.

Manhattan Massacre v Atlanta Wolves
This is an intriguing matchup to me and may come into play for those 6-8 playoff spots. Manhattan probably a bit embarrassed for the way they played against the Makos, while Atlanta is probably feeling pretty good about themselves after recovering from their 0-2 start. This should be a fight until the end as they both will have a few mismatches in the trenches. Atlanta hates when I pick them to win--sorry. Atlanta 24, Manhattan 17.

New Orleans Poison v Destin Pigskin Pimps
New Orleans had their get well game last time out. Time to get well again! New Orleans 200, Destin 0.

Bowdoin Polar Bears v Pittsburg Powerhouse
This is an important matchup in the sense that the loser is pretty much done barring some type of miraculous turnaround. Bowdoin has blown out two bad teams and gotten housed by two of the better teams. Pittsburg has had sand kicked in their face since game 2. Except at o-line, Bowdoin looks like a more solid team to me. Polar Bears 42, Powerhouse 28.

I endorse this message, the bribe I sent bort at the beginning of the season was only good for our first 4 games

As usual great write-up man. Can't wait to test ourselves once again against a great opponent in the Hammerheads.

an old BBB 15 rivalry game. Vice city has always played us tough and has a solid team. It will not be easy to hang 30+ on them.
I expect to get everything including the kitchen sink thrown at us. Not the best team to play when trying to rebound from a loss..we could find our self's on a 2 game skid very quicly.
GL Vice City it should be a good one

I am glad that this forum is fairly active. I know a few players from the Hawks were sort of sad leaving BBB 16 because of the rivalries.

If, by rivalries, you mean destroying gutted and CPU teams week after week while waiting for that 8-day/post average to kick in then I absolutely agree with you, Meecher.

I miss BBB, too.

A#8 used to be more active and what not but most of the teams have now left and we are stuck with these damn BBB teams.

Of course I did, Princess; however, the opportunity to watch you come charging in purse-a-swinging was too much to pass up.

Thanks for brightening my day.

Haha, I doubt that! After tomorrow's action I should have enough data to make the first power poll of the season. What are they doing out West?
