Since Season 4, we have been rivals with this group. We love to hate them. The rivalry grew close enough that all the GM's and Owners are on a third-party slow build team.

Its a shame to see this team fold up, really it is. I wish you guys the best moving forward and the African Leagues are better for having you and poorer for losing you. Also, this really cuts into sales from our website:

We are still going to kick whomever's ass stays on for Week 4.

Its definitely a shame. I'll miss Africa. Best of luck to the Headhunters and the rest of the league.

loved the write-ups about the management on that headhunter's website. Oh yeah, and 'Fear the Goat!' lol

Sorry to see the Reign go CPU only 3 games into the season. Pretty lame move though, tbh. Why not sell back at the end of last season and allow this league to remain competitive? Now the three teams that lost to the Reign are at a disadvantage compared to the easy wins everyone else is going to get. I wish Bort would change the rules so no team can be sold during the season... really sucks for the other vying for playoff positioning at the end of the season.

He sold back because he wasn't going to be around. Everyone was sick of having an absentee owner and GMs with no real powers. It would have been different if our GMs were able to sign players and make significant moves, however that just wasn't the case. I think one of our agents would have actually bought the team if it hasn't gotten to a breaking point for most. Unfortunately, everyone was so sick of the situation that they just wanted to get out. Anyone who would have purchased the team would have been left with a load of headaches.

I'm sick of people whining about teams going CPU because a couple of teams lost to them. Sure it sucks that 3 teams lost, but get over it. Those three teams don't deserve to win if they couldn't beat a team that was playing without a kicker and no depth at any position. Plus a significant number of agents weren't updating their tactics or boosting because of the situation. So........ life isn't fair.... maybe those three teams will try harder in future games.

Without getting this thread and people fired up, I tend to agree with atessein on this. A team going CPU during the year is awful tough to forecast and, subsequently, remove from competition. If the Reign went CPU to start the year, then I'd say BORT failed ... again.

Teams lost to the Reign because they were a real solid team. Builds can trump individual tactics. A team can dominate on autopilot if they are that good.

Hey, I wish they would have held off to Week 5 so we could match-up one last time.

my point was that it screws up the "equal" level of play that Bort always talks about. 3 teams lost to one of the best teams in Lion conference, but now 12 other teams will get blowout wins against the same (now CPU) team. That's not a fair and consistent level of play.

I don't want to stir things up too much, just venting I guess. I'm tired of seeing this happen every damn season. Oh well, there's nothing anyone can do about it so I'll just move on...

I agree and its something that will always be present in this game. BORTIE-pie is making this game far too difficult to enjoy for what it is, a browser-based football SIM. He's hidden behind BETA for a year and institutes dramatic shifts each season in a reactionary style. He's a superior coder it seems and a lousy Project Manager. I believe what this game is today is far different than what he diagrammed 1 year ago.

Anyway, the Headhunters are auditioning for a new Arch-Rival. Teams must be willing to beat us 3 times in a season [scrimmie, regular and post-season]. Your team name must also be short enough to fit on a T-Shirt.

haha.... Good luck finding a team that can fill that first pre-requisite. You guys are far too solid to ever let that happen again.

Thanks for the compliment on the website. A couple of my GMs worked pretty hard to put that together. They have a lot of fun with it.
