Picks record so far: 7-1.
GAME OF THE WEEK:
Red River Chiefs v Miami Hammerheads
Wow, talk about two teams playing well. Red River just destroyed a well built but under-leveled Da NOLA team while Miami hammered Pittsburgh. This is the game of the week because both teams may be playing better than anyone else in USA A right now. Red River 31, Miami 27.
OTHER GAMES:
Montana Grizzlies v Pittsburgh Powerhouse
Montana keeps rolling with a shockingly easy victory of New Orleans using a balanced offense. Pittsburgh was on the wrong end of a Hammerhead beating. Powerhouse has some decent levels, but Montana is rolling. Montana 45, Pittsburgh 21.
Miami Makos v Manhattan Massacre
Miami basically had a bye week last week. Manhattan suffered a tough loss to Houghton. This is an interesting matchup as I think they are pretty close in talent. Miami 28, Manhattan 17.
Houghton Gremlins v Buffalo Beasts
Houghton pulled out a very impressive victory over Manhattan with a dominate defense and nice passing game. Buffalo played better D against Maine than anyone has in a long time but lost due to a freakish number of special teams fumbles. Even so, I like Houghton a little better here. Houghton 21, Buffalo 13.
Maine Hawks v Destin Pigskin Pimps
A top contender versus a pretender. Maine 255, Destin 0.
Bowdoin Polar Bears v New Orleans Poison
Bowdoin got back on track against Destin after getting blown out by Maine, while New Orleans looked surprisingly lax against Montana. Bowdoin has the better record, but the weaker schedule so far. Look for the Poison to get healthy. New Orleans 28, Bowdoin 27.
Atlanta Wolves v Dakota Bison
Atlanta got back on track in a big way upsetting their traditional rivals in last week's "game of the week" in an absolute shootout, racking up yards through the air and on the ground. Atlanta 200, Dakota 0.
Da NOLA Brah!!! K&B Purples v Vice City Mambas
Da NOLA had a really tough outing lat time out with a beating at the hands of Red River, but they are still dangerous. Vice City recorded their second straight heart-breakingly close loss. Look for Vice City to rebound. Vice City 41, Da NOLA 28.
