Games to Watch
Hometown Locals @ Samoa Pirahna Monkeys
Obviously after dropping their first game to the Jackrabbits they've got to rebound in game to as to not get 'down early' in the conference standings. But they definitely proved against the Jackrabbits they can compete, in what was a nail biter game. They certainly have the talent and they certain have the gameplanning and it'll take perfection with each to send the monkey's back to their jungle. SPM in week 1 against the Norsemen made a strong statement, they very well, in Alpha, may be the team to beat, they shut out an up and coming Norsemen team and now with the Hometown Locals they're facing a team that should be expected to be an even bigger challenge. Games like these, could easily set the tone for the season. If it were possible to end in a tie, this one just might do that. One thing is guaranteed at the end of this game, the team that wins, is a team that is not gonig to be overlooked this season.
Coney Island Warriors @ Endzone Warriors
This game, was too enticing not to put up on the board, The Warriors vs. the Warriors. CIW dropped their first game to a superior team but don't let that fool you. This team is a quality competitor and could bounce back against anybody. They are going to look to do just that on the battlefield vs. EW. The Endzone Warriors who won their first game quite convincingly but not really against a competitor (not they're fault) will get their first real challenge thie week. They certainly have the talent. Within this game you are going to see two Warriors step onto the field, the question is, which warrior is going to slay the other. This is my "most balanced game of the week' pick.
Newcastle Ghosts @ Port Royal Predators
This game was just too intense not to put Port Royal up on the 'games to watch' again. How loud can you say Power house? Two teams that have proven two things in week 1. They're here to compete and they have the talent to do just that. These are two teams everyone should be watching out for and I don't think anyone truly wants to face. The Ghosts have been two quality teams already for sure in the Williamsport Soul Reavers in a Scrimmage and the Cook Island Pirates, if this isn't enough to prove their powerhouse potential than beating Port Royal, if it happens, damn well should be. Port Royal is no joke they're the OA4 Champions and they won that trophy for a reason. While this is a new league, new competition, they are still same intense and very capable Port Royal Predators. Will the Ghosts be able to conquer their opposition or will the Predators make another challenger their prey?
Sumatra Sea Hawks @ Arkansas Red Wolves
In week one the Sea Hawks stood tall but fell short against the Williamsport Soul Reavers they made a few mistakes in which their opposition was able to capitalize. This week if they want to beat the Red Wolves they have to cut out the mistakes, but don't get me wrong either, this team has the talent and capability to do so. The Sea Hawks are a team I have repeatedly referred to as a 'top competitor' in OAA2. I still think they are. The Red wolves come into this game, also having lost their first game against a quality competitor. Both teams are going to be looking to rebound here. The Red Wolvess are going to have to rely on Damon Alexander and their high motor defense to get the job done on both sides of the ball. The talent for both teams is there, the ability to compete is there. At the end of this one, the only question that remains is who will be left standing and who will be left 2 games down. The Red Wolves are going to be looking to eat some bird for dinner, but can the Sea Hawks escape another falter and claw their eyes out? We shall see.
*Game of the Week*
Guam Gorillas @ West Canaan Coyotes
I saw this game and my thoughts were "good god man". These might just be two of the best teams in Alpha, and they aren't going anywhere soon. Guam is a fierce to with an angry fist, with the talent to make a serious run to the playoffs and beyond but they have a Pit Stop, to make after a great first game, in West Cannan. Everone knows about the coyotes and their infamous QB Johnny Moxon. In week one they were put to the test and they passed with convincing style. In this game against the Gorillas they're going to be put to the test again. The Rabid Coyotes and their sharp teeth are going to meet the fierce fist of the Gorillas, one team is going to be left unscathed, the other is going to limp their way home. If you miss it, its your loss!
