We have an interesting season coming up. I see a lot of new teams her in the West. We have 4 teams returning from last season: Beefcake, Manitoba, Yellowknife, and Labatt.
Based on the preseason games(which really don't mean much) there seems to be 3 tiers for this up coming season.
Contenders: A couple teams that are pretty much a lock for the playoffs.
Hopefuls: With a few close game wins, aand those teams will make the playoffs.
Builders: Few seem to be slow build teams, others new teams that may have had problems recruiting(who hasn't?)
Top 4 Teams(preseason):
Labatt Blue: A team that is entering it's fourth season as a slow build team. After having a bitter taste in their mouths from last season's early postseason exit, I can't help but pick this team to be the top team going into the season. Their builds are more rounded this year. Tactics or chemistry never seem to be a problem, except for that one time.
Manitoba Warmageddons Another team entering it's fourth season in Canada BBB#8. This team is not a slow build team, they rely on their recruitment and ability to maintain quality players to compete in the West. One can't help but think this may be the year things fall into place and they make a run for the Title.
Toronto Rampage: A new team and a new owner to Canada BBB#8. Much about this team is unknown. The owner seems to have scored big at a few positions such as his level 37 QB or his 36 TE. The rest of the team seems to be on par with the rest of the league as far as levels go.
Yellowknife Diamond Cutters Another 4 year team. This team has been hard to judge from year to year. Will this be an up year for them? This team has gotten off on the right step so far in the preseason. Let's see if they can continue to play with the big boys throughout the year. Seems they have abandoned the BBB#8 forums, after being so very active in the first few years
