Vancouver Surge---------------------16 (31)

We have an interesting season coming up. I see a lot of new teams her in the West. We have 4 teams returning from last season: Beefcake, Manitoba, Yellowknife, and Labatt.

Based on the preseason games(which really don't mean much) there seems to be 3 tiers for this up coming season.

Contenders: A couple teams that are pretty much a lock for the playoffs.

Hopefuls: With a few close game wins, aand those teams will make the playoffs.

Builders: Few seem to be slow build teams, others new teams that may have had problems recruiting(who hasn't?)

Top 4 Teams(preseason):

Labatt Blue: A team that is entering it's fourth season as a slow build team. After having a bitter taste in their mouths from last season's early postseason exit, I can't help but pick this team to be the top team going into the season. Their builds are more rounded this year. Tactics or chemistry never seem to be a problem, except for that one time.

Manitoba Warmageddons Another team entering it's fourth season in Canada BBB#8. This team is not a slow build team, they rely on their recruitment and ability to maintain quality players to compete in the West. One can't help but think this may be the year things fall into place and they make a run for the Title.

Toronto Rampage: A new team and a new owner to Canada BBB#8. Much about this team is unknown. The owner seems to have scored big at a few positions such as his level 37 QB or his 36 TE. The rest of the team seems to be on par with the rest of the league as far as levels go.

Yellowknife Diamond Cutters Another 4 year team. This team has been hard to judge from year to year. Will this be an up year for them? This team has gotten off on the right step so far in the preseason. Let's see if they can continue to play with the big boys throughout the year. Seems they have abandoned the BBB#8 forums, after being so very active in the first few years

The first 4 seem to be pretty legit while the others seem a bit construed. Not sure how Alpha Flight got so high.

Preseason though. Just thought I would give a little taste.

Nah, it's not very accurate with the preseason games. Hell, Alpha Flight is ranked #4 and the team is mostly lvl 1's

Wow, I'm usually pretty much in line with a lot of what you say, Wanker, but ranking the Surge at the very bottom? C'mon now, with an offense comprised mostly of level 35 + players, some of them even in the forties... and a defense that is mostly level 30-35, putting us at the bottom is nothing more then a faint attempt at riling up Boltz. It's all good though, we'll just prove that once again, rankings are pretty much all personal opinion and matter not.

It's not opinion though, its based off preseason games. I have nothing to do with the rankings other than putting the information in.

As I have stated before is not very accurate at all. Alpha Flight should not be at #4, no offense. Hate to keep ripping on you guys but it's the best analogy( lol... anal ogy...) I have.

When have you guys proved this previously?

1 and done last season when you were rated as a #6 seed. Pretty much rated about exactly where you proved your team to be.
1 and done the season before when Boltz was rating you top 4 team in the conferance. Overrated his own team, and had nothing to back it up come playoff team.

Has had two "quality" wins in 2 seasons, Yellowknife last season, and the Bears two seasons ago. Neither opponent was a top 4 playoff seed at the time.

Care to fill me in on what I'm missing?

thanks for doing the list (still stumped on how these thing work.)

In my opinion.

Put the Surge at the number two... bump everyone (two to eight (except the Geddons) up one spot and put the Warmageddons at the eight spot... until we beat a quality opponent then I'm not buying we are a top five team.

Well, hopefully the formula becomes a little more accurate as the season goes. It's all irrelevant though. Hey, at least it has the top team correct.

OK so you totally dissed Saskatoon Dream, we are entering our 4th season, made the playoffs last season and have gotten better. Let's just wait and see what happens.

If you bothered to read what was written, he used a Spreadsheet that has formulas that were created by someone else on GLB. It uses the scores and scores alone to figure out the rankings.

Sorry, I only pay attention to teams with original team logos.

We need some life back into these forums.

I'll take notice of the power rankings when the season actually starts tomorrow, and don't worry the Surge will be making you eat your words
