Preseason Rankings

Eastern Conference
1 Joliette Jakes 184.950
2 Thunder Bay Wolverines 183.800
3 Nova Scotia Lions 180.400
4 St. Catharines Stompers 180.383
5 College 6 Year Plan 180.050
6 Mighty Moncton Nighthawks 178.483
7 Port Dover Panthers 178.233
8 Great Lakes Rum Runners 177.750
9 Thunder Bay Hitmen 172.583
10 Vancouver Vipers 171.417
11 Carolina Copperheads 170.767
12 Chicago six 170.217
13 Versailles Shinryuji Naga 169.067
14 Ottawa Storm Troopers 143.833
15 Austin Legion of Doom 60.483
16 Steel City Iron Men CPU Team

It should be a pretty competitive season for the East, The top 14 teams look to have a good chance at the playoffs (Ottawa should perform better than their ranking indicates).

Western Conference
1 Victoria Fish 187.683
2 Fort McMurray Mounted Police 186.383
3 Tadoussac Whalers 185.233
4 Manitoba Lions 184.050
5 Moose Jaw Roughriders 183.417
6 Edmonton Thunderchiefs 183.167
7 Arroz Con Pollo 182.167
8 Buffalo Bison 180.650
9 British Columbia Biscuits 180.283
10 Grove City Bucks 180.233
11 Canada Dragons 177.017
12 Victoria Falcons 176.750
13 Rancho Penasquitos Thunderbolts 171.233
14 Montreal Pub Crawlers 170.117
15 Saskatoon Lizards 116.867
16 Alberta Irukandji 71.050

The West looks to be just as rough as last season, everyone will have Alberta to beat up on this season. Don't ask me how the Fish got to the top of my rankings, it just ended up that way lol. I must have caught them after a full team boost . The top 14 teams should be fighting for the playoffs as well. Look for Montreal to be better than their 14th place ranking, I wouldn't be surprised to see them getting a home playoff game.

I borrowed on razor's ideas of how he did his preseason rankings and devised my own scheme to get totally random numbers that probably won't mean anything by the season's end.

I'm glad these were posted Bender....thanks for taking the time.

But I do have to apologize for saying that the West Rankings you just posted are quite comical at best...no offense to you, I know it's a "spreadsheet thing"...but still....funny, very funny.

First, there's no way the Thunderchiefs are that low...and there's no way the Fist and FMMP are 1 and 2....no offense to those two teams, great guys and all, but I'd be "completely" shocked if they were number 1 and 2 at season's end...and the dragons being so far down? I just don't think those rankings are close to what it's "really" like in the west.

But either way, good luck to all the teams involved this season...it should be an interesting one with 5-6 of the most powerful teams we have faced the past 3 seasons being moved up to AA....

Not trying to defend my rankings, because I just made stuff up - plugged in numbers and pooped this out, but the top 10 in the West are separated by 7 points

In the system I used Canada Dragons ranked 10th in chemistry level, 10 in average team ratings and 8th in Average Level (granted I didn't do an exhaustive study of rosters to see who was where). They also had a negative for a backup (once again not an exhaustive study, just used the roster script for a quick study). I laughed my ass off when the Fish were first too. They ranked 7th in chemistry, 2nd in team ratings, and 7th in average level with no negatives regarding backups.

The Fish didn't really give a good example of themselves last season. Seems like they kind of gave up on the season. I think you'll be surprised.

And I said it's just totally random numbers that most likely won't mean anything by the season's end.

The wet farts were ranked so high because I like razor's use of big numbers for his rankings, that's the only reason jk They'll probably be penalized for kicking 80 yard FGs during the season but in the preseason (on paper) they look pretty good.

No more 80 yard FG's and I might have to sell the team because of the wet fart stigma. That's going to follow me for the rest of my time as the owner of this team.

I'm not sure if it's a good thing for the owner of a team known as wet farts to be smelling things

Sorry but with a 7 week old baby, I have no time to type up rankings..plus I'm not going to get all "spreadsheet happy."

I will just continue to enjoy what everyone else is making, and complain as little as possible because I know it takes a lot of time to do these...

And PS..I wasn't really complaining, just saying I don't agree with the rankings...but...as the season goes on, we'll see who's really hot and who's not...

I can't freakin' wait!!!

And I totally missed that 80 yard FG joke Bender....Nice Zing!!! LOL

I'm not quit sure how to put this. Please explain to me how my 11th ranked Dragons beat the crap out of your 3rd ranked lions and I didn't even game plan for that game. Is the West just that much better than the East or what ? This is almost to a man the same team. I have 6 new players on my team and only 2 of them start.

1) I didn't game plan either when your Dragons beat the crap out of my Lions (as a matter of fact I was trying new things to see what might work for the upcoming season, so I didn't care how game ended) 2) I've added some new guys to my team this season (I think 10 new ones), maybe we have improved a little bit and the crap beating wouldn't be as bad if we played again and 3) my ranking isn't a prayer book so it's not to be taken as the end all be all.

It's not an exhaustive study of each team, just something quick that I put together (by quick I mean I spent probably an hour on it). If you do look at the numbers my Lions would be ranked about 9th in the West so yes, teams in the West do appear to be better.

Why does everyone get so defensive about these? Even in your own rankings you ranked my Lions 5th in the East and your Dragons 7th in the West, obviously you don't think we're better than your Canada Dragons, does that mean we'd finish 5th in the West in your rankings? No it doesn't.

Lighten up. I'll use my free time to do something else this season instead getting "spreadsheet happy" with stupid rankings that people just complain about. Maybe we'll be able to have the crap beat out of us by the Dragons later this season.

Good luck to everyone

and I should've put Tadoussac first, so then at least it wouldn't be an utter fail
