Going through these forums, you basically notice the exact same builds at every position. Makes GLB boring, IMO....

Try something different.

I'm putting together a team now. level 1 players. Slow build. All players built to be different than the norm, but still relevant to their position.

Post here if you're in and include your plan. Or PM me if you prefer to keep your idea under wraps.

Always seems a bit stupid building an anti-cookie cutter build just for the sake of being different, you just build the way you want and if you get it right it becomes cookie-cutter as everyone copies you.

If the build is still relevant how will it be different from the cookie cutter? You say that every player looks the same. If you are slow-building and still relevant then for each position you will match one of three or four cookie-cutter patterns for the position. Maybe not an exact match, but pretty close.

Relevant meaning don't build a HB with 3rd capped throwing.

You can build a relevant player that isn't cookie cutter... I've never seen a LB with a natural 80 in tackling - it would make sense to test one out and he could still 2nd cap speed, agility & vision. Never seen an elusive back with 3rd capped speed, agility & vision (yes, you can do that).... Or a cornerback with second capped strength & confidence, etc. etc.

Something as simple as a blitzing cornerback is not cookie cutter. 100+ speed with high first step and blitz SAa and high vision would be a great build in a scheme that blitzed him often.

You'd be amazed on what works, vs. what doesn't. People are too afraid to make their on build.
I got a 85+ vision SS, not too shabby, about to light it up this year since he hit level 24 and the rest of the build is coming together.

Copying my 90 vision SS I see? Cookie cutter!

And yes, it does work well as your other stats catch up =).

How to avoid the cookie cutter:

Create a [insert position here].
Bring [insert attribute here] up to [insert number here] while training [insert attribute(s) here].
Bring [insert attribute here] up to [insert number here] while training [insert attribute(s) here].
Bring [insert attribute here] up to [insert number here] while training [insert attribute(s) here].
Bring [insert attribute here] up to [insert number here] while training [insert attribute(s) here].

The following approaches will all be unique. Try any one of them. Even with the thousands of players that have been created in GLB you will be able to create a unique player if you try one of the following.
Nobody has ever created a [insert position here] with [insert number here] capped [insert attribute here], so you could try that.
Nobody has ever created a [insert position here] with [insert number here] capped [insert attribute here], so you could try that.

You could also build a team entirely out of players out of position.

ie, Punter as the QB
CB as the WR.
NT as the Center.

Do It. Then You'll Be Different.

I think FatLoad hit it on the head here. That team is going to be the GLB version of Goth kids. They conform to non-conformity and wind up wearing identical clothing. It's truly absurd, being "different" doesn't make you cool, unique or interesting...at all...there are ways to go about this constructively (someone mentioned a WR with 70 speed & 100 agility for possession WR's) ... but there are limits to how far you can take this.

I get the frustration that a bunch of players at various positions have very similar builds to a agree. But it's just made the game a little more nuanced. Sure every safety is trying to pump Speed, Agility & Vision. But the arguments over those attributes in the safety forums are bordering on violent. The discussion has shifted from which attributes are most important to how quickly you pump the important attributes and how high to pump them (48, 60, or 68). Is it less diverse? Yes. But it also requires you to pay closer attn & think a little more.
