Three of my o-linemen have Pancake gear and I'm thinking its time to get rid of it. I'm really seeing no benefits from it. What would be better choices for SAs other than Pancake? I know Hands (but maybe not after Bort's change) and Absorb Pain are pretty bad. Anything else I should avoid?

Just about anything would be better than pancake. Strength based SAs would be fine if you have a very strong lineman. If the lineman is just average strength - the average lineman probably has strength in the 80's including equipment - then you should ignore strength-based SA's.

Absorb Pain can be pretty useful if your strength is in the 80s.

since finding the right AE is a PITA, I gasp every time I get something related to my position. Already leveled Protector to a decent level, and the first roll trying for another piece I got Get Low,,,,, decent enough to start building up as well?

IMO p/k is usefull if your getting any, if not up your strength. with season 8 changes we should see more and with just 1 or 2 in showboat blocker it will be devistating. the moral of the nt-dt-lb and ss getting p/k should make a huge difference, coupled with any moral loss they will see by missed tackles and fake outs...

I don't know. We might have to wait and see just how much effect Showboat Blocker really has, first. It might just be that going a different route still has more overall effect. If that's the case, I'm guessing Foundation for pass-blockers and Get Low for the run blockers, might be ones to look for(Discounting the much sought after Protector for LTs and Line General for Center pieces). I know I had rolled a Pancake piece of AEQ as the second piece for my LOT(First piece was Protector, of course). I'd considered building it up and maybe running off the left side, occasionally, but I decided to let it pass... next roll, I got a second protector piece, so... eh. Kinda glad I passed, but not everyone's likely going to get that kinda luck.
