WEEK 8 5/11/08

Aukland Raiders vs. the LUEs LUEs -- Look for the Raiders to expose some tactical inconsistencies from the LU's. I really feel that the Raiders have a better grip on what works vs. what doesn't. Lu's have a better team and depth, so anything can happen. Dical, try not to fumble in this game.
Key player; Dick Navis, watch for this guy to run crazy on second stringers. Key Matchup; Thomson Hunter vs. Paul Turner, it starts in the trenches and this will be the determining factor if Aukland can really control the ground game.
Raiders 21-9.

Monmouth Evil Monkeys vs. the Wittle Wet Squirrels -- Battle of the rowdy rodents. I'm pretty sure the monkeys want to keep their gameplan balanced, but DAMN...watchout for an aerial explosion. A double dose of Samardzija and MCGEE will have the squirrels crawling back in whatever tree they came out of. Expect a shutout...the entire left side of the Monkey's defense steamrolls K MAC and McLovin.
Key player; Greg Butler, sack machine. Key Matchup; Monkey's D-Ends vs. Squirrely's O-Tackles
Monkified 63-0.

San Diego Bolts vs. the Hattie Hangovers -- I really feel this is the game of the week. Depth will decide this game...hopefully the Bolts' defense got worn down last week vs. the Monkeys and the Hangovers can take advantage.
Key player; Randal Kay probably forces a fumble in this one. Key Matchup; Orange Cone vs. Bolt Cromartie, the winner of this duel could decide the game.
Hangovers 31-27.

Houston Cougars vs. Twin City Wildcats -- Cougars, you need to shore up that O-line immediately. I imagine not only do you have a weak O-line, but i would care to bet that everyone on your team is about depleted in the energy department. Wildcats will crush the cougars on both sides of the ball with a balanced attack of run and gun.
Key player; Tim Frazier, arguably one of the best QBs in our league. Key Matchup; keep an eye out for Bust A Hole to steamroll Mynameis Earl to pave the way for Arsenic and Hock.
Wildcats 45-6.

Seattle Storm vs. Laredo Lesbians -- So many holes on both teams. Looks as if Laredo and Seattle have had really tough schedules thus far. Looks as either the Lesbians' energy level is low...or he's sandbagging his roster slightly. Regardless, the Storm seems more capable and i'll give the edge to them.
Key player; Salad Tosser Key Matchup; Jason Newman vs. D'Wayne Endman, could be a slaughter around the end.
Seattle 28-17.

Pewnts vs. the Knights -- Look for the Knights to get shutout two weeks in a row. I hope this doesn't demoralize 12thKnight, he seems like an active owner.
Key player; Don't blink, you might miss Fast Guy. Key matchup; this is what i'll call the Level 13's vs. the Level 7's.
Pewnts 59-0.

Texas Bigguns vs. Buenes Aires Marauders -- The Big Boys have to have one of the best teams w/the crappiest record. The Marauders on the other hand have been fairly consistent with a strong running game. Game should be fairly close and i'm calling for an upset, with Buenes Aires pulling it out.
Key player; Annie Man, league leading rusher. Key matchup; Vincent Treehorn vs. Marvin Houston.
Maruders 21-17.

Fresno Anarchs vs. Bayou Bengals -- Whipping post meet whip. Bengalis give the anarchs another goose egg on the offensive column.
Key player; Joseph Rogers, continues his endzone celebrations. Key matchup; The winning score vs. the no score.
Bengal Nation 55-0.

I think it could be agreed that the Hangover vs. Bolts match was clearly the game of the week. Anybody notice the extreme amount of missed PATs in GLB?

I got the Big Bois game wrong, but i really needed to attempt and pick an underdog.

For the most part things were spot on, and i did nail 3 shutouts.

I'll try and get the next one out a little earlier so we can debate things a little better and compare predictions and breakdowns.

Pretty accurate really. And no, I'm not demoralized, just kinda amazed that it's so difficult to build a competitive expansion team in this joint.

Hats off to the Pewnts, hopefully we'll have some semblance of a decent team if chemistry doesn't bite my ass first.

pretty damn accurate. We are finally starting to reach the lvl 8 spot for the team so we should start putting up a much better fight.
