Not going to make a long post, but just as an FYI for those who like to figure these things out, I thought I'd let the cat out of the bag and announce that the PNG Cannibals will not be returning for next season. It was a fun 5 seasons since we started, but on my end it was just time to close up shop.

A couple of the players have already listed their players in the proper places, some others already have found their next destination, and others will be looking for a new home. I'd be happy to vouch for any of the players if there is mutual interest, but truthfully there is not a bad apple in the bunch.

I'll still be around with BDC until shutd0wn kicks me out and hopefully many of the players can stick around in OPL as well. Good luck to all!

Wasn't there somebody from PNG that said Voodoo was going to get exposed? Let me go dig up that thread, was a good read.

Note: There was some bitterness when Voodoo took the Oceania AAA#2 Championship. Figure I'd clear that up.

Ah, it was good ol' xcoach now that I'm looking back. Good memories.

Good luck jdros . . . while our teams will be gone, I get the feeling we'll still be seeing each other around.

not sure that was necessary, and I'm sure this isn't the place. I'm all for a little friendly forum trash talk, but there's really no reason to bring it up a season later from a different league, when you are the one that put together a self-congratulatory thread that prompted some backlash (which I assume is what you were looking for).

Good luck the rest of the way in the playoffs.

I'm not going anywhere, just reducing my presence, not eliminating it.

Actually, I'm glad to hear that. Not so much that you ended your team, but that it seems like you've been swamped for the past season and a half. I didn't want to see you burn out.

man you guys get here with us (the pro's) and now kapoot... the gutting of Oceania pro will downgrade this league severly moving forward

There's going to be a lot of fluctuation over the next few seasons, as players start to decline. The teams with farm teams and strong recruiting will be fine. The rest will fall off the map.

A lot of it depends on where the players go. If they retire or go "slumming" in lower level leagues to pad their stats then yes. If they just move to other Pro level teams I'm not so sure. Great teams (Tonga, MTD) will hang it up, but if their players move to other Pro level teams the level of competition should stay the same. What's scary is a lot of people are retiring players due to frustration with Bortifications and the constant moving target the SIM has become. That or they can't afford the FP in this economy. I've got a guy with some of my very best players retiring most of them this offseason for FP because in his words "I don't want to give chunks of money to Bort for his half-assed Bortifications to the Sim." That's the stuff that hurts the SIM. A guy with multiple players at lvl 47-48 just sick of the way the game is being run.

On the flip side though, there are now a lot of season 3 and even 4 players who have closed the gap significantly on the misguided builds a lot of us have with our season 1 and 2 players. As it starts to take an entire season's worth of FP to get 3-4 points in one key attribute or SA I anticipate there will be a lot of slow-build teams that started in season 3 and 4 showing up in Pro the next two seasons and they'll be very formidable. Those teams were kicking butt in AA and AAA two seasons ago. The Veteran Abilities this offseason are really what opened that gap back up for the season 1 players and the better built season 3's.

wow Booboo, a couple of real douches over there (and alpha in general) reading that back. I forgot that was them. Vobody likes to see Voodoo win, it is like being a Steelers fan, so I am used to it.

X-Coach..have fun, good luck in all your future scrimmages where you can brag.

Good luck in whatever you do JDros

IMO, its the other way around. Jdros will be the leader of BDC until he's tired of this game.

I am sure everyone knows, but Jdros deserves the most credit for all of BDC's success.

Its sad to see the Cannibals go as they were a fun group of people ran by a great owner. But as long as we're not completely losing Jdros I think I will be able to recover.
