Just for a little reading before the games tonight.

Honestly too busy to do my normal type of playoff writing.

--------------------------------------------------------------

#1 vs. #8
Toronto Thunder vs. Napa Storm
http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=5684&team2=874

Toronto has been nearly unbeatable this season with the exception of 1 slip-up against MMN earlier in the season. It'll be tough for anyone to break through this team. Napa is going to have a long, hard day.
Scotty's Line: Thunder -38
Actual Result: Thunder -23

--------------------------------------------------------------

#2 vs. #7
Black River RATS vs. College 6-Year Plan
http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=5677&team2=5719

Black River pulled off a hell of a game plan against the Warhammers. What is their reward? A C6YP team that I've been raving about all year. Excellent builds, now boosted, and great game planning. This is the team I've been fearing all season, and I think tonight we'll find out why. This isn't sand-bagging, I just don't like this match-up for us.
Scotty's Line: C6YP -2
Actual Result: Black River -34

--------------------------------------------------------------

#3 vs. #6
Windsor Warhammers vs. Mighty Moncton Nighthawks
http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=3564&team2=5708

Windsor has a lot of tricks up there sleeve that few teams catch. I do believe, however, that MMN has the ability to close the gap a little with game planning. I like the Nighthawks to improve from their last performance, but still fall a little short.
Scotty's Line: Warhammers -17
Actual Result: Warhammers -32

--------------------------------------------------------------

#4 vs. #5
Thunder Bay Marauders vs. Nova Scotia Lions
http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=5685&team2=5717

This should be 1 hell of a game. This is the classic match-up of a good rushing team (NSL) vs. an excellent Rush Defense (TBM). I expect a close game, and I expect Thunder Bay to avange their loss from earlier in the year.
Scotty's Line: Marauders -6
Actual Result: Marauders -9

--------------------------------------------------------------

This one should be a nailbiter. Call me crazy, but I'm saying this goes into OT.

Dear Scotty,

You're sandbagging.

Love,

thanks for the predictions.

I don't think he's sandbagging. We've scrimmed a bunch of east teams.

That tells us nothing about tactics, but gives a general idea about talent levels.
I think the talent levels 2-7 in the east are close and 8 is not far behind.

I realize that we're pretty close talent wise, but for all of the credit this forum gives us for gameplanning, Scotty's crew flies under the radar. I've watched most of their games this year (mostly ours) and they really know what they're doing.

This one could end up being a toss up. I feel good about my scheme for tonight, but Scotty and Co. may prove me wrong.

Don't let anyone on the Rats fool you. They are extremely smart...with that said...I think you have nothing to fear and the Rats will be so unprepared they will forget their helmets!

Told ya, Scotty.

I even game planned for a full bore run assault from you. We just couldn't stop the ole power back. 13 broken talked for one of them, I think.

You defense laid it on thick as well. Best of luck from here on out.

Wow...Marauders -6, it was a Nova Scotia missed field goal away from being on the money.

Close game, Thunder Bay is definitely a pressure defense.

Thanks. We like our running game, and I'm not sure why we got away from it late in the season.
We're going to have to switch it up against Windsor though.
They've got the studs to stop it if they know it's coming.

BUT, that's why they play the games.

I honestly was very nervous about that game. My gut told me we were going to lose a close one.
I'm nervous about EVERY game. I don't take any opponent for granted.
That may be why we do OK. The minute you stop being nervous is the moment you start to lose!

Fear of losing is what motivates the best of them.

this was the last season for the NPS, so we're saying good bye to you guys and best of luck, team full of great agents, awesome owner, but seeing that he doesn't see us having a chance at a championship anywhere close and since we didn't have a good scouting team, we're going different directions. But anyway most of us will come back with yet another new team in the making :-p
