Here is the current promotion order for SEA AA#1. This will be updated as the playoffs advance, because the first promotion decider is playoff wins, so a playoff loss will move the losing team down. Teams at the bottom will have to win to move up.

The second tiebreaker is season record. The third is points scored.

How many get promoted?

It depends on how many get relegated. At least two will get dropped, making way for one team from AA#1 and one team from AA#2.

the past few seasons, more teams have been dropped to help restructure the leagues into more competitive groups of teams, and it's worked pretty well. we have no idea, though, how many will eventually get dropped. There are a number of ways a team can get dropped (relegated), but I don't know what they all are.

I believe that one of the other causes for demotion is if there are teams in the higher leagues with lower leveled players than teams underneath. If this is the case, then I could see up to 4 AAA#1 teams being demoted.

Kung Pow Chickens (automatic)
Medan Mustangs (CPU)
Sumatra Swarm (lower levels)

These 3 teams seems for sure, but who knows I guess the Swarm could stay where they're at, but there are teams in this league higher leveled than them.. which could make sense to do some swaps.

I can't believe the Swarm and Accomplishers are so far down there. Those teams were pretty good a couple years ago, it looks like they had to do some roster reshuffling.

There should be at least three that get promoted, the two league finalists plus one more since there is a CPU team AAA Naga. The past couple of seasons we have seen at least 4 (last season is was 6) go up. So, if past seasons are any indication, the winners of the next set of playoff games are probably going up.

I think Bort only moves down the bottom two teams from each conference plus the CPU controlled teams automatically. Beyond that it is done by request as far as I've seen (as long as Bort agrees that they are under-leveled). But I don't think he actively searches for under-leveled teams. I bet more CPU teams and requests will pop up then is apparent at the moment.

No changes in promotion order after the second round, but places 5 through 8 are now locked in.

Sadly, this system needs to be reworked. No way in the world that the Sting (and Monkeys for that manner) are not in that list. I can sympathize with those guys, but until Bort makes the regular season more important in this process, it bites.

Yeah who knows what Bort is thinking on a day to day basis.

It is better than when the second tie breaker was post season scrimmages.

Lea Lea should also be on that list

When you're only promoting 2 or 3 teams each season, it makes sense that the teams that advance the furthest, with the best regular season record, should get to the top of the list, like it currently is.

But if you're promoting 5 or 6, like has happened recently, this system is really screwed. Winning the conference in the regular season should guarantee a team at least a fourth spot in promotion order -- along with the other team that wins its conference.
