First let me say that it has been a true honor to play with all these teams this season, except Alberta. With Laval at least they went CPU, the Alberta Quitters just quit. However, excluding them it was one, if not the, best seasons for competition I have had in 5 seasons here with GLB. Cheers to all of you for that. I look forward to many more seasons crossing paths with all of you, all the way to Pro.

Special shout to all the BBB #9 West S5 teams. I am not sure you could start a dynasty with better guys for competition. We are all very fortunate. So Cards, FMMP, Thunderknowns, Maul and Chicken thanks to all of your owners, GMs and Agents ~from the Drift org.

These are playoff odds. Just feelings on how the teams matchup and their respective paths to the Wild Wild West Championship.

Cincinnati Cardinals: Odds to win the Wild Wild West: 12-1
Red Birds have capped off a fantastic season, they came in as favorites (according to this post) and have not disappointed. According to what I have here they are the 4th best rushing offense and the 3rd best passing defense. They have averaged giving up only 175 yards passing per game while the Cards O averages 290 yards per game. Cincy is the fairest one of all, most of us thought they were damn good and turns out they were who we thought they were! The Birds met an early season test hosting North Bay. They came out more prepared and romped the Drift, proven they can game plan too. Cincy finished the season in the Gauntlet (no the gay MTV one, but like a manly roman empire one) with games against the Chicken, Vikes and Mani. They dropped two vs. the Vikes and Mani and escaped one with the Chicken, maybe the Bird exposed some weakness? Hard to say, one thing that can be said, the Cards are going to have to get serious about the post season as they open with the Chicken team that has shown they can play with them. From there the bracket will call for likely the Vikes again. Not the best setup for the run to the ring for the Cards.

Vancouver Vikings: Odds to win the Wild Wild West: 10-1
Victorious the Viking (Vancouver's mascot) came out of the closet this week in a shot heard AROUND THE WORLD.....well at least 2 to 3 miles from the "Killing Field" stadium. I need to be clear to my readers here, "Vicky" didn't actually come out as homosexual but actually heterosexual, this may seem odd but "Vicky" was assumed homosexual, so it was quite a shock to learn he likes the split tail. If I was being honest I think this whole media bombshell was simply "Vicky" the Vike trying to distract the sports world from the Vikings game with Pollo, you know the one where the Vikes were busy giving away the top seed in some kind of field goal contest. In all seriousness, much bro love for Chriztian and crew for an outstanding season. I really thought this team was a step or two behind the leaders of the West and it turns out likely they are the best in the West. Certainly not the most dynamic offense in the conference but undoubtedly one of the top defenses. It only allows 80 rushing per game and less than 200 passing. Early in the season Mani the Mauler smashed this team. Dropping nearly 500 yards of total offense and sacking the Vancouver QBs 12 times. Since that time, the Vikes have recovered and asserted themselves in consideration as the best in the West. (That is at least they did before they gave it all back to the Rican Chicken.) For the post the Vikes have perilous trek. They open with the resurgent Dragon then they get one of the Birds. Not an easy haul.

North Bay Drift: Odds to win the Wild Wild West: 15-1
Marsha, Marsha, Marsha. The "Also Ran" Drift have made it look ugly this season. They are kinda like the fat girl in the hot chick group. You know, not your first pick but sometimes she scores just by being nearby. (Do not discount the "Proximity Effect" I have lived my life based on it) Yeah that pretty much paints the picture. Outstanding rushing offense that is held back with a very young defense. The Drift was out game planned early in the season when the team traveled to Cincinnati then just plain beat with a late 80 yard fumble for a TD while hosting the Vikes in North Bay. Then finally in week 14 with a real chance to earn the #1 or #2 seed with a 4 way tie the Drift coughed and choked again to a quality team and got beat for it. I guess another good analogy for this team would be a bro with Erectile Dysfunction. Sure its pathetic when it doesn't work right, but toss in a blue pill and its fucking majestic! If the Drift can find a way to beat the Knowns (like avoid 102 yard INT for TDs) they have a doable path to the conference championship.

Manitoba Maulers: Odds to win the Wild Wild West: 8-1
Mani is wearing that #1 Seed sash and actually that pink goes well with the flannel. Well done Maul. A successful call up season for sure. My script says this team is locked and loaded. 1st overall offense lead by the rushing game and 2nd best defense. Those ranks are for the league not just the conference. We are all too aware of the ammo this team uses on D, those DEs. Easily the most potent players in the West this season. The Maul found its way to the #1 seed in week 16 due to a 3 way tie with the Vikes and Cards, all with 2 losses. Its never about how you get there, just that you get there. The Maul sputtered a bit early on. With much flak, I jumped on them for a weak performance to open with the vastly under leveled 6YP team (I still feel the same way about this one) then they dropped to a Pollo team that had been dazed and starry eyed, presumably from promotion. The Chickens first win of S7. Then the Maul found themselves Drifted. In this battle the Drift had to much for the Maul, at least that day. So that neighborhood Mauler has earned the #1 seed and the benefit of playing a very good but overmatched Mooser squad, but then they will have to face either a Drift team that they have yet to beat this season or a Known team that is much different than the one that Mani took care of early in the season.

Edmonton Thunderchiefs: Odds to win the Wild Wild West: 15-1
It has been a titillating season for me and the Known team. We have flirted, we have loved, we have lost. Even the brightest, hottest relationships don't always stay that way. Eventually Known will start working later, have to go in on Saturdays, out of nowhere the Known will start to travel for work and be just plain distant when he is at home. Then there will be a suspicious charge on the credit card, yes you can guess. Bastard is dipping his pen! What about ME! what about the KIDS! All Knowns are the same, they will love you, but they will always leave you. Oh well at least I get half! Half Eddie! --- Ok, well. Little worked up there for a sec. Um, good season, great team. Beat mine, that's for sure. Losses only to the top 3 in the West (Mani, Vikes and Cards) along with a loss I am sure they want back in the Nova Lions. Tough Playoff road. Drift then likely the Maul.

Arroz Con Pollo: Odds to win the Wild Wild West: 10-1
What a emotional roller coaster S7 was for the Chicks. First you draw the Thunder for the East matchup, then you get the Alberta Quit before they fell on their sword. Add to that your stumbling out of the gate before you regained your footing in the last third of the season. However you got here, you did arrive. Outstanding rushing attack from the Chicken. Thing is, they just do not back down, they are coming at you and they are coming on the ground. (hrm, that actually came out a bit odd, sorry about that) The Pollo D struggled to find its way for some of the big games. However it was serviceable and was able to keep them in some of those huge games. If this team puts it together you better watch out, just like a Puerto Rican in a tricked out '95 Chevy 1500 with a Rican Flag on the rear view, they are going to rape your face (not that Puerto Ricans rape faces, just used for effect). So the Chicken in the post season. Matchups are favorable. A Cincy team they have proven they can play with and then either Canada or the Vikes, who they also have proven they can beat.

Moose Jaw Roughriders: Odds to win the Wild Wild West: 50-1
I respect the Moose. If I were going to be a Far North woodland critter I would be a Moose right after: Polar Bear, Eagle, Trout, Snow Fox, Ram, Black Bear, Seal, Walrus, Elk, those little rodents that make snow caves....... well eventually I would pick a Moose. Great S7 Moosers. You won the games you should have and showed some promise with the big boys. I am a fan. In the big show now but that 8 seed is tough. You open, and likely close, with the Maul. If you upset Mani, you get the Drift or the Knowns. Rocky road.

Canada Dragons: Odds to win the Wild Wild West: 30-1
Old bald and crew have proven to be a contender season in and out. Good, high level builds and attention to detail have been the base of this squad. The passing O and D are some of the best in the West. They have passed on and shut down passing teams all season. Severe props to that. Any team that can beat the pass in this GLB code has done something. Solid wins down the stretch to assure a playoff spot over teams like the Lions, FMMP-Improved, and the vacant Demos team were clutch. However it gets serious now, opening with the Vikes and then if you pull that upset you get one of the Birds. Its a doable proposition for the Drags.

Cheers!

Thanks for the post Crockrh, was an entertaining read.

Playoffs are a weird time, I know I don't feel comfortable 'predicting' games. I, of course, will be keen on the Edmonton vs North Bay game....

That post was just awesome!!! Simply Awesome!!! Kind of interesting that our names ended up in almost all of the top team's write ups.

We love you guys...and it will be a sad season when most of you move up for S8...unless they go off and move us up too...LOL

EDIT---I was going to correct you on the Rican Vs. Cuban thing..but it seems Senor already did...LMFAO

Thanks fo the work today and all season.

Last time Moose Jaw played Manitoba Maulers, they outgained us 3:1, sacked us 5 times and hurried 9.
Total and utter destruction.

If we can knock that down to being outgained 2:1, 3 sacks and 5 hurries, I'll be happy.

Oh well. I will mark it down as Cuban. Unfortunately the Rican stuff is so ingrained it would be hella dangerous for me to edit it. It could all fall down on my head and that is alot of shit to crash down on a guy.

It is alright, Ricans are quite fun to make fun of. So I don't mind.

Dude, Dimmy, you should consider holding those bastard DE's at Manitoba (maulers) to 5 sacks an accomplishment...

Those guys are crazy!!! LOL

(We were able to hold them to 3 in our game...but last season it was 8 during the season and 11 in the playoffs. )

Awesome write up crockrh. Funniest of the season imo. Not much to disagree with either, it should be a VERY fun playoff run seeing how its damn near impossible to accurately predict more than one or two of these games.

Unlikely. Oscarr from UG did a great job for us last season. I am sure someone will step up.

They are viciously time consuming and some days you just don't feel very funny (not to say any have been particularly funny).

That doesn't even mention the blow back from sandy vaginas. I would prolly get bent if it were someone saying things like I have said about the Drift too. We all put so much real time and energy into our teams. Its hard to take a jab sometimes.

I really tried to be fair and leave the real honest nastiness for the teams that needed to be singled out. Like Alberta. (imo)

I was rough on the Fish this season, but when I see a post in the first days of a season about not bothering with game plans I get sideways. Who knows, maybe it inspired the Fish to make an extra effort. They certainly improved throughout the season. I really do not dislike that team, however with their high levels and good builds they do a disservice to the league and themselves by not trying. If you don't want to try why bother?

Anyways, I am pulling for the Fish in the future.

Also pulling for the Demos to actually care.

...and screw the Urkels.

Cheers!
