Mentor - Other players sometimes make the best coaches. Each level of Mentor gives a +1% in-game bonus to vision and confidence for all teammates who play the same position and are at least 3 levels lower than this player.

Whats everyone thoughts on this?

Does it work at all times for the lower level players? Does the player with mentor have to be in the game? Will it work while he is on the bench? To me this seems like a no brainer if you have a CB who is 3 levels higher then everyone else. +15% vision and con to all your other db's is great.

If however it only works when the DB has to be in game, then it loses some of its bling.

Looking for some insight on this VA...

The trouble is as a CB if you spend 15 on this and then move to another team with higher level players, bam, you've wasted your 15 VSP.

Well yes, there is all kinds of negative if you dont have a good situation for it, but lets assume you have a ideal situation to put it in play. We have some players that meet these conditions and have dedicated there players to the team, and are deep on the depth charts. They wanna help out however they can, and if the top 3 starting DB's can benifit from this, to me its a win win.

Try to think of the team benefits over that of the specific agent.

It also gives declining vetrans the ability to still help there teammates as they progress beyond season 10.

I want to know if it works all game, or only when the guy is on the field. If it works all game, and better yet, you can only play st and not even have to start at CB, this would be freaking amazing to add to your def secondary.

My LB is on a team where he'll be the backup until season 14 (probably). I plan on begging the starting LBs to invest in this down the road.

i'm vary wary of mentor. I believe it is overpowered, and will get a large nerf after it gets exploited.

My MLB has mentor(8) and natural leader(13), he's 42, the rest of the LB's are 33-25 and I think it has helped a lot. His actual stats aren't noticably good, but the other LB's are playing way above themselves. It has been a factor this season.

I like to think he has sacrificed himself for the team rather than on his own build and stats.

I had the exact same thoughts. As long as it works with the mentor on the bench you could just stash a season 1 guy there, never retire him. Be a huge demand for positions that have multiple spots on the field- WR, CB, LB, etc. I'd drop this into the general forum "Goal Line Blitz" and hope Bort responds.

Think about the possible exploits of this.

It doesnt state that only 1 player has to have this. If you have 2 db's that are level 45, and 4 that are level 40 why cant you have both the level 45 guys max it each. That would be +30% vis and con to your other 4 guys.

Whats even better, is you might not even need to start or play the 2 level 45 guys to reap the rewards from this.

Again, we have no idea what has to happen for it to trigger 100% of the time, but it would be nice to hear from bort on this one.

right, there are a lot of exploits with this one. hence my earlier comment that I believe it won't last in its current incarnation.
