Some interesting talk surrounding this one.

Don't count the Pirates out of the number 2 or 3 spot just yet. We beat both the Manlets and Bocs last season. I know that was last season and both of those teams have improved, but so have we.

Just because the Mantlets schooled you 76-14 doesn't mean they're invincible or even all that great. That's not saying that they're not an elite team, but I feel you're giving them a bit too much credit, locking them into 2nd place.

What were you saying now?

That you're not the Gods of Western Europe League #5, Zeta Conference, and I stand by that.

Predictions anyone?

Meh. Whole lot of talk for a game that doesn't even matter for us, to be honest.

This. Plus I traded my Joey Porter player avatar for James Harrison so I can't really talk trash now.

Manlets are definitely the powerhouse in this game considering the trades to their depth chart compared to previous seasons. They pretty much pulled a Chuck Norris here ( In regards to Chuck managing to drag down alot of players from a gutted Pro team last season; although I don't think Manlets cashed in like Chuck did ), which isn't a bad idea at all given the competitive nature of this simulated game.

Only reason why there was any talk at all from the Pirates was due to VCA opening up and Manlet players jumping in. We'll just have to hope on playing VCA again in the playoffs so we can bounce them out ( Now there's me talking ).

The players on the Pirates are generally good sportsman people. Teams keep underrating us, but lets not forget who managed to steal the #3 seed last season as a overall 48 team ( Let alone who bested the Wolves who had probably the best coordinators in the Zeta league last season ).

It's all good though.

The Manlets are definitely beastly. It will be a good one between them and Chuck in the playoffs. I really thought we might give them some what of a challenge a few days ago (meaning not get beat by 50), but after losing to VCA I knew that was't going to happen. I did really think we would beat VCA, and have a good shot at the Bocs to finish out 3-1. Our best case now is to finish 2-2 and maybe take one game in the playoffs (both of which will be tough). Then hope to see Chuck and Misc go on to a better place (either die and go to heaven, or get promoted to AA, I don't care which ).

I'll be honest with you, the situation is similar, but still pretty different than the Chuck one.

All of our GMs have played together since season 1, all of the players on all of our teams knew each other before the game and all come from the same message board. With the number of people leaving and pissed about sim and build changes it came to a point where we only had enough players for two teams instead of three without outsiders, so we condensed them into mine rather than bringing people in from outside. That said, the team most of my new guys came from were an A level team, not Pro, though.

Just so everyone knows, our guys didn't come from a Pro team. Smooth and I are good friends and got hooked on this game by our buddy The Leviatha. He started a team in the US and we moved from BBB to A after season 2. After that, we could never do better than 8-8. He got frustrated and decided he was done trying to be competitive. We lost a bunch of other guys and decided to go seperate ways. I moved some guys to Chuck and some to another team. After a season, everyone ended up on Chuck. So our story is similar to Misc.

Man, I am sick of hearing people indicted for taking advantage of opportunities and picking up players from teams hitting the scrap heap. Life is full of people knowing people, lottery wins, game shows, tragedies, car wrecks, and unforeseen inheritances. I have only been in since the start of season 3, but the other team I GM has picked up a few players from disintegrating higher-ups that we knew, and I simply see no guilt or culpability in that. Hats off to you for (gasp!) having friends, knowing people who actually want to team up with you, and maximizing your opportunities.

Nobody is blaming you for that, but to immediately go from one season of 'failing' so to speak and suddenly picking up powerhouses into your team and going into 'brag' mode - really speaks out that you're way too reliant on those powerhouses moreso than anything else.

I know how it is on the Pirates. First few seasons, we held losing records, but as our levels grew and we got the AI down - we started doing much better. Unfortunately, we never did cash in on a good many trades like Chuck and Manlets have. So our ability to compete against such teams is strained until next season. There's no denying it.

Who trash talked again? As far as my reading comprehension goes, Pirates never did.

Must admit I was shocked to see a shut down, but I wasn't surprised by the loss.

Both Chuck and Manlets will get promoted no matter if they hit the Championship(s) or not. The relegation/promotion gig that Bort has will handle it to replace all the gutted teams further up in the leagues. Bocs might follow up behind them as well, but thats stretching it.
