Week 5-Western Conference

Denver entered Monday's game on a sour note. The Globetrotters (3-2) had just lost to the Nasty and the effects of this loss seem to hang over into today's 20-17 loss to the Sliverymoon Elves (3-1-1). The Globetrotters got off to a slow start and the Elves took an early 7-0 lead on a 4 yard touchdown run by Monoxide Child (Juggalokai, SM). Jack Elam (D-will, DEN) responded on the next drive by booting a 38 yarder down the middle of the uprights. Adriana Cianci (Serenity, SM) matched Elam's field goal with a 25 yarder of her own. Denver held the Elves at Denver's 25 yard line to end the half down 7 at 10-7.
The Elves struck first in the second half on a 5 yard pass from Chang Wai (svedda, SM) to Hines Ward (Jed, SM). The Elves defense held the Globetrotters long enough for Adriana Cianci to kick a short 55.5 foot field goal (19 yards) to raise the score to 20-3. Finally, Denver's offense woke up and scored on a 16 yard pass from Terence Hargrove (CPU, DEN) to Javon Sorensen (CPU, DEN) with just over five minutes remaining. Denver then got the ball back after Cianci missed a 53 yarder. They scored on the first play from scrimage, a 64 yard pass from Hargrove to Graham Lindsay (CPU, DEN) with 2 minute left to be played. With a slim 3 point lead, the Elves ran out the clock and secured a victory.
Neither coach returned calls after the game.
The Wild West Whistles' Offensive and Defensive Players of the Game were Keith Goddard (Knicksfan20, SM) and One Grizzly Shields (Juggalokai, SM). Goddard rushed for 180 yards on 32 carries. He also caught one ball for 8 yards. Shields recorder 4 tackles, 2 sacks, and 7 hurries. He also recorded his first career interception which he returned for 1 yard.
