i was away and couldnt do last week but the predictions are back to continue the west's power week with the top 4 teams playing eachother.

Houston Toros VS Philadelphia Marauders II ... biggest of all matchups this week. the Toros are firing on all cylinders it seems. they believe to have things working well and for these guys the playoffs start now. the Toros' last two opponents were very focused towards attacking percieved holes without any success so it's a curious situation how Philly will approach this game and one Houston needs to bring their "A" game for if they want to keep it close. Philly hit the gauntlet with the same results that have rotated throughout the season. i really expected Philly to take both of their last two games but it didnt happen and now are in a fight to keep from spiraling down. with their final two games being quite a bit lighter they're ok regardless, but right now Philly wants to take down the top team and prove themselves going into the playoffs, along with keeping a home game in atleast the first round. it's a big mountain to climb, but Philly is the team most have expected to be the worst matchup for Houston and arguably favorites. my team so no prediction.

Fremont Warriors VS Milwaukee Fire ... based on what it means, this is the game of the week. both teams are 11-2 and this one will shape the playoffs. with a pair of gimme's to end the season, Fremont's in the driver's seat - win here and lock up no less than the 2 seed. where Fremont really impressed is bouncing back to defeat Philly and reclaim top status. Fremont's messy in the best way possible IMO ... they can overcome mistakes, play any type of game, and if a team struggles in any way Fremont's going to jump on them. it's streaky but it works. the Fire are almost an unkown right now even at 10-2. i would like to see more convincing games against middle of the pack opponents but a win is a win and that's what the Fire have done - win. the test starts now however and we're about to see exactly what Milwaukee's made of in these next 3 games. the Fire dont have enviable levels compared to some, but to go this far they're coached very well and play to their strengths. i think the Fire are for real but i cant pick against Fremont here. 31-21 Fremont.

San Francisco Webzoners VS Bayou Bengals ... SF's regular season is basically over and this can be a blessing or curse. SF by 100+.

SOUTH GEORGIA GROWL VS Farkistan Demons ... the GROWL came up huge last week in a win over Philly and resumed their ways of playing games into a single posession and showing how strong they are. while this isnt a game to ignore and let themselves get suprised, GEORGIA basically has a week to practice before a huge game against Milwaukee that will decide playoff seedings. Farkistan's in a bit of trouble as their season is essentially over with almost impossible games to end the season. now's the time to just throw out the crazy gameplans and test what works against bigger opponents and see what sticks. 45-17 GROWL.

N'awlins Voodoo VS Death Valley Devils ... this has the potential to be very interesting. both teams are coming off of big wins against arguably much stronger opponents. i really dont know what to say about N'awlins because i hate how they rely solely on one player but if it wins games, nothing else matters. as long as devan's lighting it up however the voodoo are extremely dangerous and can beat anyone at any time - when the defense shows up the Voodoo can work their magic at will. DVD's especially exciting right now because they control their own fate - if my numbers are right it's win and in with their last two games being gimme's. after getting cheesed by App in a tough loss, DVD bounced back to take out the bigger LaCrosse team, giving themselves a tie breaker and remaining in the playoff hunt. they may get in anyways with the weakest of remaining schedules but there's no guarantee ... this is the game to sell out for. i think it'll be a valiant effort but ultimately i think N'awlins is the stronger team here. 42-28 N'awlins.

Appalachian Mountaineers VS LaCrosse RiverRats ... again a big deciding game between two playoff hopefulls. App's gotten cute in their playcalling in the last couple of games - one a success and one not so much, though it may be assumed they were a little overmatched regardless last week. the Mountaineers' coaches have impressed and served notice however that they're going to do heavy scouting and if they find a hole they'll make their opponents pay. had it not been for some miscues early, this approach may have already locked App into a playoff spot. LaCrosse on the other hand is a much more stable team but they seem to have lost their identity with the move up to A. the levels and pedigree are mostly there but something's missing and has been all season. LaCrosse isnt out of it yet, but they need to run the table to have a chance at a late playoff seed. with middle range teams it's a real possibility ... LaCrosse needs to figure it out immediately and make a statement in this game that they want to put in the time. i'm favoring App's effort in this one. 27-21 App.

Chinese Bandits VS Philadelphia Fighters ... as far as equal teams go, this one has potential. the Bandits were written off in the beginning and deservedly so but they've found ways to keep learning and improving as the season's gone on. there's still a long ways to go but the effort to keep moving forward should motivate their guys for next season. Philly's struggled also though i doubt for lack of trying - they just dont have the full levels to compete this season and need to work towards recruiting and improving for next year. i'd like to pick Philly here but they seem to be taking a step backwards while the Bandits are inching forward. 53-45 Bandits.

Fort Sam Houston Rangers VS Flappin' Skunk Farmers ... game of the friggin week! two opponents with the same record going at it like wild dogs! ok, so maybe they're chihuahua's and this doesnt have any playoff implications, but it should be fun. the Skunk's have the levels here but Sam's got the Zulu monster. i see another insanely high scoring game that really could go either way so i'm throwing out a random number. 92-84 Sam.

Great writeups as usual Scoot, thanks!

I had a similar thought about our game the other day with the Bengals, equating it to a heavyweight boxing match, with two fighters going blow for blow in the middle of the ring....Then I watched the highlights and thought it was more like two old ladies in the middle of Walmart fighting over the last 75% discounted handbag in the store. LOL...Watch out Skunk Farmers, the Rangers are ready to slap the stink off you.
