As we close in on the playoffs a couple of teams are jockeying for better playoff position. No big surprises this week as the matchups dictated some uneven games.

East Cairo Argonauts (13-0) at Red River Ruminants (8-5) 33-20

East Cairo rocked River Bank Stadium as the undefeated Argonauts pull it out against the Ruminants. The game started out with two quick scores by Red River but league MVP candidate HB TwinkleToes Hillsowski helped East Cairo build on their league leading rushing attack with 148.5 yards and after the initial flurry the tough Argonauts defense shut down the Ruminants holding them under 50 rushing yards.

Passion Fruits (12-1) at Barcelona Cock N' Bulls (5-8) 41-7

The Fruits dispatched Barcelona with relative ease, helping set up a very meaningful week 16 game against the Vatican City Fighting Popes. Stud DE Give You The Run-Around was back in top form pulling the QB down 7 times and getting another 8 hurries while Passion's balanced attack sliced through the Cock N'Bulls D for nearly 450 yards.

Nikopolis Stoic Hedonists (3-10) at Vatican City Fighting Popes (11-2) 3-73

The Popes beat down the Hedonists with flair in a battle of religious philosophies and mascot Anton LeVay was escorted from the building as the fans at the Sistine Chapel pelted him with Bibles. Vatican City HB Da Speed was transcendent with 314 yards rushing and 5 TDs to go along with his 71.5 receiving yards.

Tilburg Dream (5-8) at Ingolstadt Hat Tossers (11-2) 7-34

The Dream once again falter against one of the top Alpha teams losing their third in a row against the Hat Tossers. Ingolstadt HB Tiny Twinkletoes was featured prominently in the game with 51 carries for 276.5 yards and 3 TDs. The second best defensive unit in the league was once again dominant allowing only 6.5 yards rushing and 116 yards through the air.

Qidan Beggar's Sect (0-13) at Stockholm Black Death (9-4) 0-156

The Black Death players were all tired of running past their counterparts at the end of this one as Stockholm absolutely destroyed the Beggar's Sect in a brutal shut out. Newcomer HB Jeremy Blitz proved he could contribute with 7 TDs and 234 yards on the ground and a stingy defense held Qidan to -22 rushing yards and just 60 total yards of offense.

Warfield Hellbringers (9-4) at Zurich Lions (2-11) 63-0

The Hellbringers of Warfield descended on Zurich with the howls of demons and left the Lions Den littered with the bodies of the Zurich faithful. Warfield HB Neemoo cethens managed to cross the goal line 4 times to go along with his 146 all purpose yards and DE Decon James dragged down the QB twice in the blowout which ended up a shut out.

Heidelberg Hitmen (8-5) at Cambridge Chieftains (5-8) 27-16

After nearly disbanding last season when their owner sold the team the Hitmen have all but secured a playoff spot with this huge win over the Chieftains. The first half favored the home team with Cambridge scoring on three field goals to Heidelberg's one but the Hitmen came out swinging in the fourth quarter when QB Dwight "Right In Your Eye" Johnson threw two beautiful TD passes and racked up 183.5 yards through the air.

Amsterdam Dragon's (3-10) at Inverness Monsters (1-12) 124-0

The Dragon's weren't afraid of the Monsters as they roll through Inverness with ease on their way to their biggest margin of victory in team history. Amsterdam HB Marius Eriksen ran for 178.5 yards, caught 20 passes for 261.5 yards and scored 8 TDs in one of the most over the top performances this season.

Our final 3 games are against tough opponents. It would be great to hang on to the #8 spot.

Run-Around saw that Ross Paxton was catching him in sacks and challenging his conference leader status. He wanted none of that =p

Nice write-up as usual!
