/sigh at this stupid idea of de-training.

It's pretty fucking simple, have a little effing button next to the SA tree's saying "Reset SAs" with a little FAQ link on the side or something. Click this link, all the skill points spent in the SA tree will be given to you. Maybe a cost of 25 flex or something i dont effing know

All I know is that it doesnt need ANOTHER training mechanic.

OK, we had an SP respec thread that went a thousand posts.

Now we have, what appears to be a middle ground here with concessions from both sides, and it just doesn't spark interest?

I was a diehard member of the no-respec camp, and I am willing to give in a little toward this idea.

Are there no SP re speccers willing to take half the pie?

I dont know why there has to be some penalty for re-specing the players. The biggest problem with people in the suggestions forum is that you guys tend to make things a shit load more complicated then it needs to be. I think you should be able to re-spec 1/4 of your overall SP's at the begging of the season. if you dump all your points into speed then so be it. You are going to lack in other areas. This thing with training points and ratios is a clutter that isnt needed and just making it all complicated for no reason

i could see something like this incorporated into a new OFF SEASON training program.

in the offseason - you want to bulk up (strength) at the cost of speed - you can move 1 skill point out of speed and into strength every offseason day - for the sake of this discussion - so you could untrain your speed from 60 to 59.5 - and move it to strength (either from 59.5 to 60; or from 25 to 26 or from 62 to 62.33 as examples - all 1 sp worth)

in the offseason - you want to work on your football IQ (ie vision) - that is going to come at the expense of stamina (you weren't working out as much since you were in the class room

you want to work on your confidence (sports therapist) - that is only available during your agility drills (ie + conf; - agi)

I think you'll see where I'm going here - this way Bort could control what the offseason training options are (just like he does with intense training)

this could be handled with offseason training tokens - that begin when your team's season is over (so either day 32 if you missed the playoffs; or day 41 if you won the championship (yes i expect people to hate this part of the idea) - that way the players on the worse teams have the option to get an advantage over the players on the playoff/championship team).

in addition - an extra long offseason - would lead to extra offseason training - so there would still be something to do for players during the offseason.

even still - there would be plenty of people who wouldn't use these offseason training tokens for re-specing (since they like where their current skill points are) - so these offseason training tokens could have another use as well - since it is the offseason - they are more able to focus on their training - meaning that these offseason training tokens are good for .5 skill points per day added to the stat of their choice.

so - they can 'offseason train' their 23 speed to make it 23.5; their 50 speed to make it 50.25 - etc.

the numbers might need tweaking - possibly even doubling them.

The good -
- a system where people who don't want to re-spec still get something valuable
- people who DO want to respec - can get it done, slowly, during the offseason if they so desire
- something to do during the offseason

The bad -
- possibly too powerful?
- may not be worth re-specing if you're missing out on the offseason special training

How the hell does this get Epic'ed after 2 posts.......from an idiot poster none the less.

Bort mentions that he had dinner with a friend and his buddy hinted at this idea and now its an Epic idea with no discussion?

Great Mod work Nixx.

Not to mention we were told by another Mod that we had to close the SA Respec thread so we can discuss it in the reroll thread, so why is that thread closed if its the thread were supposed to substitute post in?

does nothing make you happy? first your ridiculous idea gets epic'd, and then when bort partially agree's with you, and is trying to further your cause, you get all butt sore about your original thread getting locked(which was long overdue)? why can't you just agree with this idea? because it's the middle ground? do you not want to give in your half? wow, very republican of you, you know it's people like you who don't want to compromise that ruin the world

Dude you still dont know how to form a sentence yet? Go play in the street or something.

I dont care that my thread got locked, its the fact that the other guy who made the SA Respec thread had his thread locked for no reason other than we were told to carry on in my thread, which got locked.

The SA Respec should not be locked.

And why would i agree with this idea, it doesnt make much sense, plus the fact that Borts buddy mentioned it to him, so he presented it here and the minions like you all gobble it up.

So once again, go play in a street.....a busy one. Oh and try not to miss the big trucks.

I like this idea while there is still a moving target to hit, and as long as it's done in the least-exploitable way.

But if the sim ever steadies out and gets to the point where only minimal tweaks are needed, I'd rather people live with their decisions.
