Unlike Head1 I will be doing a smaller ballot, with starters only pretty much. I will still count your ballot if you dont wanna vote on MVPs...thats a hard decision IMO.

At this point I shamelessly advertise my CB as an allstar.

His PDs and Ints are decent, nothing special. However he really shines when you consider how little catches are made when he is covering. He barely gets thrown at and when he does he usually makes a play. For a shutdown CB his stats are quite nice.

When you look at his tackle count, you will notice it is quite low compared to the other high stat guys. Now this is a big assumption, but im assuming they have more tackles because they give up more catches which they do to pad stats. It is quite possible that they get all them from run support or special teams, but my CB gets a lot of tackles from that too.

Vote for Mattimus Maximus as allstar CB!

The sign of a true shut down should be

Ints+PD > Tackles

Your CB is close, but I think there are better out there in the conference.....just my opinion.

that doesn't really work in some cases though, some CBs make a lot of tackles in the running game too

wait are advertising CB's now lol.

I have a CB who plays special teams and ends up with 2-3 tackles per game because of that.

personally i think you should not allow people to vote for there own players or players on their team...

i am up for people advertising about there guy or someone on there team as that can be fun seeing the debate

but just seeing a few people vote and do it all for their own players and teammates can make these worthless.

I like the not voting for your own player rule...I know my CB won a close allstar bid season 5 and if I didnt vote for him it woulda been tied.

But players on your team? I think you should be able to vote for them.

Good to get this discussion though. What do you guys think of not allowing you to vote for your own player but allowing you to vote for teammates?

This is for everyone so I will change some things based on what people wanna do.

Yeah stats really dont tell the tale. Not a huge amount, but at least 10-15 of my tackles come from specialteams/rungame.

i think you should be able to vote for people on your team and your own player but a max of 3 on offense and 3 on defense if they are from your team or your player.

People are biased to there there players and team, and nominating other players on the team is away to promote the team. I can understand when there are deserving people on your team that you can honestly believe deserve the shot to be on the list, but you are still going to get votes where people just vote thee guy over some one else becuase hes your team mate.

The reason i suggest this is becuase in africa a8 last season they did a similar vote and they allowed the owners to nominate players who they thought were worthy of being named the best. Unfortunately, a few teams nominated players at almost every position and you had guys who were not even top 10 in key stats on offense like passing yards, tds etc as the winners. Some owners said they did not nominate there players becuase they didnt think they were in the elite group of the top 5 at each position. In the end it was just a completely worthless list that was just a waste of time. I feel like if we do it, it might as well have at least some credibility.

I would almost think that you could go through at make a ballet of the top positions. If someone thinks they have been excluded, they could have a "write in ballot" and show evidence why they should be considered. that might be more usefull for o-linemen and defensive guys who dont get the glory stats.

I can see letting you vote for your own team, just not your own guys.

You are talking to someone that has 5 CB's in his stable, so I get where the tackles may come from. But the PD's and Int's make or break a CB.
