Four seasons now, I've owned the D-Foxes. I changed them from the Togo Outlaws to what they are now, hoping I could draw on the historical awesomeness of Erwin Rommel to inspire some killing instinct in my players.

For four seasons, we've posted a losing record. When the team started out, I had $750k. I couldn't recruit. My stadium was... well, the bare minimum. All the best players (save jamaris) were either traded away or left me for dead. (Thank God I got one, our CB DJ Hoskin back.) And now, once again, we're growing dangerously close to another losing record.

The problem has always been, for myself and my front office, recruiting. GLB's player market is in serious need of some regulation, and I just don't think Bort and the team have the time to monitor the system. GLB's economy is beyond fucked in the head. Players right now are asking exorbitant amounts of money and getting insane cash.

Is anyone else ready to stab owners who are allowing Lv. 30 guards to get $450,000 a year with $300k signing bonuses... on A teams?

Well it definitely isn't easy, but we are all in Africa AA so the recruiting challenges are the same for most of us (except some have more money than others of course). I'd say your best bet is to network...get some of your players on other teams and get to know those players. If they have more players that become available or FA they might want to join your team if they know you.

I think Stonewall is being a little too nice to Bort.

SeverCitrin you are correct. Bort has no desire to make this game more competitive. In my estimation this game will fold before 2010. Probably before the end of Summer 2009 when all of the agents from early on realize that Bort is just taking their money and has no desire to improve the game. It's season 7 and it's still a beta game??? WTF??

The FA market is beyond ridiculous. It's geared to award teams/agents who started in season 1 as those are the teams that have all of the money. If you came along after season 3, the message from Bort is 'tough shit, deal with it'.

This game has no customer service of any kind and Bort makes no real attempt to improve its weaknesses. he just tweaks a few numbers every season to make Agility the new buzz, or speed or tackling. Each season it's another exploit and nothing more. This game needs what the real NFL has ------------A PHUCKING SALARY CAP-------------. Without it, stupid owners will constantly get tricked into signing big contracts on team for which they will never see the field instead of taking a fair contract and be an important player to a lower level team.

I feel your frustration and have been dealing with it for the last 5 seasons. I've finally got my team respectable/good, but we still have to a thin roster and are forced to rely on semi-active agents. All I can say is good luck to you, I have no real secret up my sleeve to offer you.

Being the computer moron that I am, what is the difference between a beta game and any other game?

There is no 'hard' definition. But a beta game is usually a term used for games that are still in the process of being designed. Kind of like a trial run used to find glitches and fix potential problems. In the business world they are sometimes referred to as a 'soft opening' before a grand opening. See: Ocean's 13 for a good example. Al Pacino's character has a 'soft opening' of his casino before the grand opening.

good ideas wahawk04...but untill bort makes stuff like that happen, teams really need to Network like stonewall said...almost my whole team is through networking which makes for a very stable core group of players.

Lets just clarify..season 7 is NOT the same as year 7.

The seasons are only 40 days and a week or 2 offseason. Thats less than 2 months each season. If his seasons were 1 month you could make the same statement and it would mean even less.

Its been slightly more than a year that its been out.

I never said anything about year 7. i'm talking about season 7....as you said, just over a year. That's still ludicrous that this is still a beta game. Make up your mind and commit to a product. Instead, Bort just caves into the 'original' players demands and makes changes from year to year. Most of which turn out to be a detriment rather than an asset to this game. Which explains things like DE's with 80 speed. Please find me more than 3 NFL DE's who have ever run a 40 in under 4.4 secs (with valid documentation). Everyone knows Deion ran the 40 in like 2.1 seconds or whatever the outrageous claim used to be.

Oh and for the love of god, can we please control our PR, Punt, FG Block depth charts? Is that really too much to ask. Also, why can the defense call specific plays but the offense can't?

I'm not against networking and i has helped our team in the past. But, this only awards people who spend all day on this game (I'm one of them) and hurts the casual player. I mean this isn't Word of Warcraft. The game gets kind of boring after a while.

Another thing that would help this game out tremendously would be a Roster Cap.........you know, like real sports leagues.....that would prevent teams from stockpiling talent.

oh and one more thing............contracts should only be a 10day contract or a end at day 40 contract. Again, you know, like real sports leagues.

Screw this end on day 26 crap.

oops....one more. If an agent sell his team, other teams should not be allowed to 'take' their players and leave the team in shambles. Instead, once a team has been sold, a GLB GM should take over the team until the end of that season and the game should automatically rework all player contracts to end on day 40. This way the sold team would still be a competitive team rather than the 255-0 doormat that every league has.

My biggest issue is these problem are easily solvable. But, in order to do it, Bort would have to tell some of the 'original' players tough shit and deal with it.

Casual gammers shouln't have teams...simply because you need to please so many other agents. If you don't have the time don't have a team, then recruiting won't be a issue.

Without networking recruiting is very time consuming.
