I've been saying that for a couple weeks now, heh

I really think your formula needs to weight head to head higher

it's fun tho, and definitely sparks conversation, which is never a bad thing

The fact is both teams have only 1 loss. Targoviste lost to the only undefeated team by 5 points. The Impalers beat Minsk by 4 TDs. There is no question who is better.

But I appreciate slash's efforts. Rankings are fun to look at and debate.

It's not a "who is better" compilation. That's what i'm trying to tell you.

So what is the point of Power Rankings then?

It's just a summary of combined stats ending that week.

The real measure, besides wins and losses, will be what they look like after the final regular season game. But even then it won't really matter, will it? Bragging rights, thats about it.

oh

so it's more like we've put up more points/yards relative to the impalers?

I'm curious now, can you tell us the actual formula? maybe there's other stuff out there that we can smash together to get interesting results

Yea sure, here is the actually formula

Wins%
+
Oppenent Win%/2
+
Points Scored%/2 ((Points scored+ Points given up)/Points Scored)/2

If slash still uses my spreadsheet

It is pretty affective if you ask me. I have thought about adding in something that would take into account your winning streak.

I'm guessing the total lack of competition in this league is causing problems as well. Just as an example, the Impalers have had 6 games decided by over 100 points, 4 of which were decided by more than 150 points. At that point, points scored comes down more to how you use personnel (e.g. putting in a power back as a returner and watching him score 6 TDs/game against low lvl teams).

the blow out scored do not help it. this year is pretty bad as far as that goes.

minsk hasnt played the tougher teams yet, played mostly the lower end teams. and that is what is skewing it right now.

and yes, im using Blazzes formula still.

i will study some things tonight and repost it BCS style.

that will make everyone happy.

i am trying to work in your Overall matchup rating somehow. that would separate them alot.

your matchup overall rating pretty much coincides with your power ranking, and in this case, would move impalers ahead.
