Dropped From The Top 10
Papua New Guinea Cannibals

Twelve teams participated this week.
() denotes first places votes

Fun Facts: 11 teams received votes on all 12 submissions... only 2 teams have participated in all 9 season 7 coaches polls (7 teams have only missed one poll)... we have had 22 teams submit at least 1 of the possible 9 votes

I awarded a first place vote with 15 points, 2nd with 14, and so on down the line. In the event of a tie an average of the scores is awarded (ie. tie for 2nd between two teams results in a 13.5 for both).

Thanks to all those who voted this week!!!

Nice work Lurken. I didn't put SQC on my ballot because of our win against them, so I was wondering if you put them on your ballot then why didn't you put the Gods on there? I wouldn't put the Gods on my ballot, so you have good reason not to, but why SQC, but not the team they lost to? Just something to think about.

Personally I start by basic ranking all the teams by record, then adjust as I feel is needed from that base.

By your logic, MTD doesn't deserve to be on there either then, SQC beat them, but wait, MTD beat the Gods. It's a rather slippery slope to be basing things off single games.

I don't have my records up(about to head out the office door) but I know SQC won't be the 14th or 15th team on my ballet they were before this weeks games. That said the Gods won't be up there either.

I wouldn't rank the Gods in the top 15 for my poll either, but I couldn't justify putting SQC there either if they lost to a non-top 15 team. I have a hard time ranking teams with better records lower than teams with worse records even if there is a head to head matchup, so understand why you wouldn't put the Gods in the top 15. I'm just saying that out of all the 4-4 teams you could have taken for this poll SQC might not be the best of the options.

None of these three teams made my ballot. And that isn't to say they are bad teams, just not playing top 15 ball right now.

Yeah I had you guys at 14 over Canberra, Sth Queensland, and some others. Samoa made it in as #15 for me.

This is for this current week, not last, but i have somoa and melbourne closing out the 15.

I think we need to pop a win vs. a top 5-6 team before I'd consider putting us back on my top 15 -- we're in the mix, but its been a roller coaster of a season...some weeks we are looking good, others we look baffled on both sides of the ball

It has a lot to do with the SIM this season, which I think is one of the worst on record.

These rankings are very interesting when compared to the 4 OPL teams that made the top 25 in GLB.

Wow I just did my poll for this week and realized it's amazingly tough to make it into the top ten. My #10 team is 7-2. That's crazy, because they have 78% winning percentage, but can't get above ten in my ballot. Just goes to show you how tough OPL is.
