Lion Conference
Cape Town Crusaders vs Impending Doom
Detroit Drive-By vs Zimbabwe Bulls
Cameroon Tarzans vs Texas Armadillos
Pygmy Death Squad vs Swaziland Dachshunds
Zulu Brotherhood vs Rabat Death Stalkers
Rwanda Riot vs Kenyan Knights
Strong Badia Tires vs Lagos Eagles
Algeria Desert Foxes vs Nigerian Nightmares
Game of the Week:
Cape Town (7-1) vs Doom (4-4)
Cape Town has been on a nice run so far this season, but it's been largely at the expense of the lower half of the Lion Conference. The Doom have a few more losses, but their schedule has been a little bit tougher. The Crusaders are pretty clear favorites in this game, but I just have this feeling that The Doom are going to make this one a burner.
Elephant Conference
Zimbabwe Hyenas vs Ivory Coast Breakers
Michigan Nation vs Uganda Crowned Cranes
Savanna Pride vs Rhodesian Ridgebacks
Freetown Jayhawks vs Mauritus Mountain Lions
Cardiff Cobras vs Egyptian War Gods
Madagascar Wild vs P-Town Ballaz
Madagascar JagerMenze vs Benin Black Mambas
Lethoso Rollers vs Ethiopian Food Mongers
Games of the Week:
Freetown Jayhawks (6-2) vs Mountain Lions (6-2)
Ah . . . the battle to stay at the top of the league. Well, the battle to stay just under the Hyenas, anyway. With the glut of teams sitting at 7-1 or 6-2 in this conference, getting that 3rd loss is going to hurt. Both teams had their two losses to VERY good teams, but the Lions don't have that "signature" win. The Jayhawks have two. In the end Mauritus just isn't going to have the guns to outshoot Freetown, and they will fall a few spots on the power rankings.
Cardiff Cobras (7-1) vs Egyptian War Gods (6-2)
The War Gods are looking sharp so far this year. They dropped games to the Jayhawks and Michigan, neither considered a "bad loss", and took down the Riot & Ballaz. Pretty solid. The Cobras have an almost identical resume, with the only difference being that they beat the Nation by 2, where the War Gods got rocked by them pretty hard. This game could push EWG back into the "top of the conference" talks, but I don't see them getting it done. The Cobras aren't sneaking up on anyone anymore, and they should come out of this game with a "W".
