Dropped From The Top 10
Vanuatu Kava Sharks

Twelve teams participated this week.
() denotes first places votes

Fun Facts: 9 teams received votes on all 12 submissions but 2 of the 9 failed to make the top 10

I awarded a first place vote with 15 points, 2nd with 14, and so on down the line. In the event of a tie an average of the scores is awarded (ie. tie for 2nd between two teams results in a 13.5 for both).

Thanks to all those who voted this week!!!

beenlurken, I've wondered ...

"I awarded a first place vote with 15 points, 2nd with 14, and so on down the line. In the event of a tie an average of the two scores was awarded (ie. tie for 2nd results in an 8.5 for both)."

"In the event of a tie" = someone submits multiple teams tied for a spot?

and

"an average of the two scores was awarded (ie. tie for 2nd results in an 8.5 for both)." ?? how does a tie for 2nd average to 8.5 points for both?

No big deal, maybe it's obvious and I'm missing it, but I'm just curious and have never asked you.

I have had several reps submit rankings with teams tied for the same place (MC_Hammer used to award a lot of ties)... here is an example from this season (a team rep had Banzai, So Cal, Orlando, and Cook Island all tied for the same spot early in the season)

As for the 8.5 that was an oversight when I switched the poll from having team reps rank 10 teams to 15 teams (it used to be that a 1st place vote was awarded with only 10 points so a tie for second - 9 points and 8 points - would have resulted in an 8.5 for both teams)... now a two way tie for second would be award with 13.5 points... Thanks for catching this!!!

That's a pretty big drop after losing one game. Voodoo are for real. It's not like we just dropped a game to Emerald City.

As a voter in this poll it's really hard for me to put the voodoo in a good spot. I had the Voodoo at #10, but I know they are probably in contention for the #5 position(there's like 5 teams all fighting for it imo). I have a hard time putting teams with a worse record ahead of teams with better records even if they've played teams who aren't as good. The final polls are going to tell more than these weekly ones for me because everyone has played the same teams and we'll have head to head data for most of the teams and we can make our judgments on that more than on record.

It's all good. Whenever people underestimate us, we tend to have a great season. I'm not complaining at all!

Although I still want those rematches with WSI and MM sometime! Those blowouts were hard to swallow.

Don't sweat the WSI game. It was a pre-season scrimmage.

Oh, I'm not really. I've always wanted to play against good competition and OPL has so far provided that, but to play against some of the best teams in GLB? Sign me up. So I'm glad we made it up here.

We fell down around there when we lost as well. Honestly, its about right. Everyone above you is undefeated or only has one loss.

You will obviously move up with the Orlando loss today, but other than that it seems right. No disrespect. I didnt have a problem with us being down there when we lost either. Some tough teams to battle through to keep moving up.
