Ethiopian Food Mongers (1-6) L6 vs. Zimbabwe Hyenas(7-0) W7
Zimbabwe has everything going for it in this matchup. Ethiopia's season is all but over and we're at the half-way point. Perhaps they'll play the role of spoiler down the road if they figure things out, but today they'll be Zimbabwe's punching bag.
Zimbabwe-51 Ethiopia-13
Madagascar Grand JagerMenze (3-4) L1 vs. Egyptian War Gods (5-2) L1
Both teams are fresh off a loss last week against a couple of contenders in this conference. When comapring the two teams, I think it is safe to concede they both have decent defense, but Egypt has had a much more potent offense all season. That offense didn't show up last week, but maybe you just have to tip your cap to Michigan for that. Look for Egypt to bounce back this game as they go more pass heavy than last week. Moss wants the ball, give it to him!
Egypt-31 Madagascar-13
P-Town Ballaz (4-3) L1 vs. Lethoso Rollers (1-6) L1
This is actually a pretty big game in my opinion. If Lethoso wants to have ANY hope, dream, fantasy, about making the playoffs they MUST win today. The good news for them, is that I think they will! Who has P-Town beat? I'll give it to them that they've beaten some decent teams, but nobody special yet. Lethoso has been close in a lot of games against teams that I consider to be better than P-town. If they still have heart and haven't given up I think they can still turn this season around and make the #8 playoff spot. They will lose at least one more game this season, they need to win the rest. It won't be easy, but it starts today.
Lethoso-41 P-town-28
Freetown Jayhawks (5-2) W1 vs. Madagascar Wild (6-1) W4
Game of the week! This one should be a whole lot of fun to watch and I just hope it's a close game (or a Freetown blowout!). May the best team win, or a fluke that will be avenged in the playoffs!
Freetown-44 Madagascar-38
Ivory Coast Breakers vs. Uganda Crowned Cranes
I like Uganda. I don't know why, maybe it's their ugly bird avatar. They always seem to gameplan well and at least make a game out of it no matter who the competition is. Ivory Coast on the other hand just simply does not have the defense to stop anyone so far. Look for a high scoring game with Uganda coming out on top.
Uganda-48 Ivory Coast-35
Savanna Pride (2-4-1) L4 vs. Cardiff Cobras (6-1) W5
Savanna has struggled a lot recently, mostly due to their suspect defense and inconsistent offense. I know they have a pretty solid HB in Milton Washington, but something is wrong with their running game, possibly their Oline. If they just take a gamble this game (what do they have to lose) and go pass heavy they might have a chance. Cardiff is just finding ways to win games lately. Some of it luck, some of it clutch. I'm going to say that trend continues and it's a 3 point game, but luck balances out and Savanna somehow finds a way to win!
Savanna-20 Cardiff-17
Michigan Nation (6-1) W1 vs. Benin Black Mambas (3-4) W2
Michigan bounced back last week as I suspected. Benin has turned their season around winning their last two games, giving them some hope in this matchup. They really need their offense to continue to produce to have a chance. Benin has the players, but they really need to get their AI and gameplan going if they want to really compete with the top teams. I don't think they are there quite yet, so I'm picking a Michigan win again this week with a big game from Tall Boy McMahon!
Michigan-49 Benin-31
Rhodesian Ridgebacks (0-7) L17 vs. Mauritius Mountain Lions (5-2) W1
Tom Brady Sucks. Enjoy the bye-week Mauritius!
