1.Minsk Mullet Mafia
MMM have beat the #2-7 teams on this ranking if you count the preseason. They have both sides of the ball clicking on all cylinders.
2.Hungarian Revolution
The Revolution have the #1 rushing offense in the league, and the #2 rushing defense, so its no surprise that they have been rolling over everyone in Zeta.
3.Kiev Dynamos
Kiev has a very good team and wont lose another game during the regular season.
4.Odessa Legends
Odessa had a very solid win over the Jäger Bombers to finish out the first half of the season. They like to throw the ball around, and are very good at stopping the run. I'm not convinced that they are playing at a championship level quite yet, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see them make a solid run in the playoffs.
5.Cobra Kai of Croatia
Cobra Kai has one of the most dominant passing attacks in the league. They have had a bit of an easy schedule to this point, but that is the beauty of the Zeta conference. I expect to see them in the conference finals against the Hungarian Revolution, but they are going to have to get past the Westland Warriors first.
6.Wolfenbüttel Jäger Bombers
The Jäger Bombers round out the top 4 teams in the Alpha conference. They are on a 3 game losing streak atm, but no team that beat them in that streak will be very excited to see this team in the playoffs. I know in their game against MMM it looked like their AI was a bit off, that should be/get fixed in time to do some damage in the playoffs.
7.Westland Warriors
I have to admit d5greene has done a good job of turning this team around from the bad start in the preseason and their first game against the Ninjas. Although not nearly as good as he seems to think. They have a very balanced offense and a stout D, but it has all come against second rate competition. You will have your opportunity to run your mouth at the end of the season when you play Cobra Kai, then the Revolution in the final game. Don't blow it.
8. Kiev Werewolves
Kiev is a team that I would not have thought would be where they are at this point of the season. I am still not convinced that they are one of the top teams in their conference, but next game will definitely solve that problem. I don't think they will be able to beat Wesland, but they can show they deserve this spot by playing them well.
9.Venetian Blinds
I've liked what I've seen from this team from the beginning. They are playing better than their overall level would suggest. They have played the top teams very close, including a 1 point victory over the Saints. They look like they are on pace for the 5 seed in a very tough Alpha conference.
10.St. Petersburg Saints
The Saints have gotten themselves into the top 10 with some very tough wins in the beginning of the season. Although their schedule just got brutal, they play the top 4 teams in the conference over a 5 game stretch. Its not going to be pretty, but learn these opponents well, because you will be facing one in the playoffs.
11.Grodno Ninjas
The Ninjas have played very well up to this point. They have beaten all the teams they are suppose to beat, and they even beat the self proclaimed best team that has ever digitally put on a uniform! Their schedule gets brutal at the end of the season, but they will come out of it with a seat in the tournament.
12.Kazan Vipers
This team is very close to being undefeated after losing to the Saints and Ninjas by a combined 15 points. They have a very solid running game, and that should keep them in most games. I'm looking forward to their match up game after next against the Blinds.
13.Tomsk Assassins
Tomsk has a solid team, but unfortunately I don't think they will make it to the playoffs. I would have them ranked 4th if they were in the Zeta conference, but unfortunately for them their not. They have 3 losses and have yet to face the top 4 Alpha teams. Its not over yet, but they are going to have to do some serious game planning to win any of those games.
This is where my knowledge of teams goes WAY down hill. I can tell you that these teams seem to be very close together and anything can happen. It should be an exciting run to the playoffs for those in the Zeta conference.
