New Teams in the Top 10: Rwanda Royal Knights, Dar es Salaam Warrior Kings
Teams Dropping Out of the Top Ten: Somalia Pirates, Angola Spider Monkeez
Nine Teams voted this week....I'm not greedy but I'd like to hit 12 weekly at least guys
The voters can't seem to decide who the best team in the league is. Once again we had a change at the top between TLGoT and LOL. It looks like it will have to be decided on the field, as it should be.
One thing most of the voters agree on, Angola Dream is the 3rd best team in the league after DD took one on the chin from the Stallions. As a result DD took a tumble in the standings just like Cape Verde did the week before after their loss to the Rhinos. But also like the Kings, if DD wins tomorrow they will move back up quickly.
Cape Verde rebounded nicely this week, defeating a very strong Monkeez squad and knocking them out of the Top 10 in the process.
One thing The Dream, Djibouti, and The Kings all share....a very tough stretch in their schedules in the upcoming weeks. All three teams will have to stay focused the next 5 games if they wish to hold their 2nd tier positions in the league.
Another team to keep an eye on, The UN Peacekeepers. They lost to the Legionnaires this week but still maintained their 5th spot on the list. That week 6 win over Cairo is huge for them, especially since Cairo rebounded with a nice victory over the Corsairs.
But in the 1st game of the week, Ghana looks to crash the party and pass both Cairo and the Peacekeepers on the next standings list. Ghana has very quietly been making a name for themselves, but a win over the Peacekeepers this week would be a breakout game for them and put the league on notice. This matchup is a must watch that's for sure.
The Royal Knights and Dar es Salaam are also making some noise as we approach midseason. They both had very nice wins last week and meet each other tomorrow in the 2nd game of the week. The stakes are very high for both teams in a brutal loser get out of the top 10 match. Another must watch game.
Lastly, my screw job of the week. I hate to question the voters because I never want to influence the votes in any way, but explain to me how the Pirates drop off the list after demolishing a cupcake team. I know in the past, teams have dropped in the polls after beating the Donkeys and the win doesn't carry much weight. But these guys lost a close one to TLGoT, and to DD by 1 point. In my opinion, two of the toughest teams in the game, let alone this league. Other than that they have won convincingly schooling Ghana in week 2 and a strong Ridgebacks team in Week 1. I have to say that they were robbed, I couldn't ignore it in good conscience.
Ok That's it for me this week. Good luck tomorrow everybody!!
