Great job arscola. What do you think of the Saints getting Williams as the DC? I think he might be the missing link for the Saints.

Even better is Gruden getting fired and Gary Gibbs becoming assistant head coach for tampa At least we know that Defense wont have any pressure and can be passed on all day long this coming season

But Im holding off on whether Williams as DC is good or not for now

I was in shock and very happy when I seen that on ESPN last night. I hate playing against Gruden's defense, but fire Gruden and hire Gibbs wow. Williams will wake our defense up. He will bring attitude to the defense. Something that we have been lacking since the Dome Patrol days. Williams was a DC for teams with bad offenses and he had a lot of years he finished with one of the top defences in the league. The way I look at it is that Williams can't do a worse job than Gibbs did lol.

I always thought it was Gruden who was the defensive Master mind. I could be wrong, I never watched Tampa untill they played the Saints.

Jon Gruden is an offensive guy. Played QB in high school and college, and he coached QBs and WRs under Holmgren, Walsh, etc. You guys are correct - The defense was not his.

The Tampa 2 actually has its roots back in the old Tony Dungy days in Tampa. Monte Kiffin is, more or less, the father of the Tampa 2.

Yeah I was just saying that without Gruden there and them getting Gibbs that the defense will suck

I always thought that Tony Dungy and Monte Kiffin introduced the Tampa 2 together... But either way, Tennessee Vols Defense just got taken to the next level with Monte going there and Ill bet we see that Tampa 2 there next year for sure

And with Tony Dungy retiring... Im interested to see how the Colts do..

But man Im starting to get more and more excited about the Saints new DC Williams the more I read about him... Of course until he does something or gets some more personal Im not sure what will happen... especially now that I heard Vilma had to go and get arrested like a dumbass yesterday. Sure hope we get some linebackers and DE's that are worth a damn.. oh and another corner and move MM to FS

The Siants defense needs an overall. I would say trade Grant and Smith to free of some cash and go after some DE's who would actually earn the pay check. We do need another CB, Our LB's are fine and I hope Vilma doesn't get into that much trouble.

The only thing I would worry about is the fact that Williams took an already good Jaguars defense and ran it into the ground this year.
