Obviously we changed the formula here, as noted in the other thread. A "blowout" is now capped at +50, for a maximum bonus of 5 points for a lopsided win. I also tweaked down the punishment for losing and the punishment for loss totals for opponents who beat you. Teams now take a 2.5 point hit for losses, and a 1.5 point hit for each loss by a victorious opponent. This really changed the dynamics of how accessable the "next" category is to any given team.

Big winners from this new format:

Gods of War, whose +18 SoS is far and away the best amongst the 6-1 teams, and also trumps that of the Ironmen (+15)

Berlin Crusaders, whose +8 SoS overcomes their 3 losses and +8 net MoV and puts them ahead of the 5-2 Blaze (+1 SoS)

Big Losers from this format: The Warriors, who drop all the way down to the bottom of the charts.

Noteworthy: Dubious congratulations are in order for the Bayside Tigers this week. They didn't notch their first win, but they did score their first touchdown of the year, after being shut out six straight to open the season. Unfortunately, they have the additionally dubious honor of being the only team to be officially "blown out" every game this season.

1) Off-Topics (143.9) --
2) Butchers (121.9) --
3) Gods of War (109.9) +1
4) Ironmen (107.8) -1
5) Niners (94.7) +1
6) Pecs of Steel (94.1) -1
7) Chiefs (92.7) --
8) Guardians (84.9) +1
9) Yellowhammers (67.6) +1
10) Nightmare (66.0) +2
11) Doomsday (62.1) --
12) Raptors (58.5) -4
13) Wolfpack (56.4) --
14) Crusaders (44.8) --
15) Blaze (41.8) +1
16) Syndicate (23.9) +1
17) Players (23.6) -2
18) War Pipers (7.0) --
19) Gargoyles (-10.5) +2
20) Stampede (-21.9) --
21) Vets (-24.6) -2
22) Piranhas (-26.7) -2
23) Mariners (-29.8) +1
24) Kardinals (-39.1) -2
25) Bandits (-52) --
26) Outlaws (-59.4) --
27) Roid Pushers (-69.9) --
28) Silverbacks (-70.5) +1
29) Flames (-74.6) +2
30) Rebels (-75.0) +2
30) Tigers (-75.0) --
32) Warriors (-77.4) -4

Also of note:

Starting week 9, I will no longer report on teams who have dropped out of playoff contention - so if any of you in the bottom 6 right now want your team to hang in on the charts, I suggest you do whatever is necessary to pick up a win or two between now and then.

So (sorry if I'm being dumb) But appears we (offtopics) have increased our lead at the top, for some reason I expected it to decrease due to the Butchers SoS.

*Edit* Ahh, no, I'm being stupid, they have the best SoV.

Sorry.

Actually, the O-T's have far and away the best SoV. 26 versus 21 for the Butchers.

Ultimately... As pleased as I am that we are top of these rankings... the Guardians still make me nervous as they kicked us down a hole in last seasons league game, and the butchers will be plotting like only Bratislavan midgets can plot... I predict ankles will be bitten!

It's nice to be top, but it don't make the nerves stop.

My only regret is that Portland doesn't get either one of you in our schedule this year.

Just think of the verbal jousting, the glorious nouns and syllables, rolling in a never ending torrent of wit and insightfu....

No, we'd just kick you down a hole mate. Sorry.

you should talk to Creed about arranging a scrimmage!

and yeah the biggest problem with being #1 is you've got a giant bullseye on your back and nothing to shoot for but keeping the same position

Sure you would...

Except for that little part about we've got identical scouting bars, our only loss this season was a first game 4th-quarter meltdown against the only other undefeated opponent in your conference, we've already taken down two of the three remaining undefeateds....

As my boys back in Boston used to say:

Bring it, snappah head.

Dude, you have no idea of the fury you are calling on yourself. A dominant front line on both sides off the ball, a HB that throws DT's over his shoulder, A QB that can throw a feather 70 yards and burst a pigs bladder, an OC that can drink 3 bottles of spirit in 2 hours and still vomit in a straight line!

I say this as a Bengals fan.

You are tota..

Why are you all laughing?

Heh. If my boss wasn't such a skinflint, I'd tell him to pony up so we can scrim you.

I already know what his answer would be: Waste of FP's, they're a phantom.

The really funny part about this quote is that the Butchers' owner is 6'8" and absolutely hates midgets...LOL.

All arguments will be settled week 13...at least until the playoffs. Go Butchers!

Guh...we are still getting hosed.

That's fine. We know who'll be a top dawg when the season draws to a close.

hahaha, I had no idea.

The playoffs are going to be VERY interesting as there are some strong teams currently crippled by poor team chemistry.

No hosing about it, bro.

6 wins, two against now 6-1 teams, the rest against teams with a combined W/L of 3-25.

We got some more provin' to do, is all I'm saying.
