Only two teams left with only a single loss this week. The league is still plenty competitive and at least 11 teams probably still having a reasonable shot at getting into the playoffs.
Shams power through Doom mostly relying on their big back and two WRs (one of em only L19, go figure). Stallions show they still have fight left in em by thrashing all those new L30s on the Dragons. A few offensive errors by Bastards widen the gap in their game with Red Lights. Game of the week, back to the usual fizzle.
Week 8
Oslo vs Pirates. #1 vs #2. Who everwins will have bragging rights to #1 being the only team with only one loss this year. Strong Oslo running game will probably make the difference. Oslo wins.
Shams vs Terror. Terror a long-shot for the playoffs, but shams emabarrased this last week. Shams win.
Red Lights vs Doom. Red Lights can score a lot of points, but they also give up quite a few. Doom pretty balanced, and has a better defense than Red Lights. Doom wins.
Bastards vs Tofu. Common theme for Bastards is being out-leveled by nearly everyone. Tofu relies heavily on their HBs and one of their WRs. Bastards have one of the better pass defenses in the conference having only given up one pass TD, so it will likely fall to the HBs to carry the game for them. Tofu wins.
Dragons vs Assassins. Assassins apparently have decided to blow their payroll, possibly bankrupting them later in the season by bringing in some L40+ super stars. But its hard for a couple players to make that much difference, especially when the rest of the team is such a mixed bag. Dragons win.
Stallions vs Huskies. Stallions pulled an upset last week, they get to do a victory lap this week. Stallions win.
Cards vs Trawlers. Cards get to make it two in a row, but they better watch out for the trawler's rushing game or they might be embarrased. Cards win.
CPU-dogs vs Zurich. Hmmmmm, kind of deja vu, except this time the Zurich is the one playing the higher level CPU team. Last season Zurich kept winning with their CPUs, but their guys just aren't experienced enough to reverse that ironic twist. CPU-dogs win.
Game of the week: Oslo vs Pirates
Runner up: Red Lights vs Doom
