Some big moves, mostly because of strength of schedule.

BIG MOVES UP:

- THe Nancy-Hawk Left-Handed Bowls get spanked, but not as badly as the numbers say they should have, by Cheshire, so they gain 6 spots.

- Gaul Visigoths likewise hold Paris Vikings closer than the math suggests, gaining 5 spots.

- South Yorkshire Scorpions Crush Paris Superbes to move to 5-0 and climb 4 spots.

- Dinwiddie Dustdevils pull a mild upset by a significant margin over Gothenburg Geats, gaining them 3 rankings.

BIG LOSERS:

- Cancun Sharks pay the price for having an off week...oh wait...you mean they actually played Buffalo? Oh...well...that's different then, but the mere 128 point victory (not the worst Buffalo has taken this year), combined with the hit to strength of schedule still knocked them down 6 spots (and yes, I double-checked it).

- Gothenburg Geats lose to Dinwiddie by 25 in a game the math predicted them to win...there's not much the spreadsheet penalizes more than losing a game you're predicted to win (well...other than playing Buffalo and only winning by 128), so they lose 5 ranks.

- Milan Shock lose to the Chutaba clan, drop 5 slots. No witty comment here, sorry.

Next week's rankings will likely be the first to drop Pre-Season. There may be drastic moves as a result. Stay tuned.

(There will also likely be drastic moves when Dinwiddie gets taken out to the woodshed by Cancun this week...but that's another thread)

I don't disagree with losing the ranking, but Dinwiddle had higher ratings in all their team departments other than rushing and had beat similar opponents by more than we did. I wasn't really surprised when the score came out the way it did.

Does #10 (Dockwallopers) beating #3 (Valkyries) in a scrimmage not count for anything? lol It was a great-close game..polls show no love.

Cleothorpe is a very good team. Don't sweat the rankings, you got my respect!

The only games that count in the rankings are the "official" scrimmages (the two done before the season started scheduled by Bort) and the regular season games.

And the official scrimmages will be deemphasized starting next game.

We missed 2 easy FGs that game. They took that into account

Ya, I don't think we'll stay so high up for too long.

As for the Geats game, I don't think we'll score that much. I test things out if we get ahead too much which seems to put it in "cruise control" mode.
