Here we go. Another week, and another round of matchups that appear to be rather unfair. It looks like the last four or five weeks of the season is going to be gangbusters as at that time the teams appear to be matching up against very similar teams talent and level wise, but until then, most of these matchups feature teams on opposite ends of the spectrum. Anyhow, let's get this underway.
Cancun Sharks vs. Dinwiddie Dustdevils
I'm new to this league, and while I may be missing out on some things here, because I was under the impression that OSshane wasn't well liked here, I've found him to be a knowledgeable, and likable guy on the forum. I can also say the same of Dinwiddie's owner Gorm. I like the way that the Dustdevil's have gone about their business this season, and expect them to be there at the end, scrapping for a playoff spot. On the otherside, I don't expect the Sharks to scrap for anything. As far as I can see, they are probably the cream of the crop in this conference, and while they are fallible, they certainly won't be easily toppled. This week they will put their foot down on a good Dinwiddie squad, and win by more then 20, quite possibly more then 30.
Gaul Visigoths vs. London Apes
The Apes have the premiere passing attack in Alpha up to this point, and one of the most dominant run defences. Gaul, is pretty much near the bottom in most categories. This game will be a blowout. London 80ish to Gaul 10 or less.
Montana Wolverines vs. Henry Patriots
The Patriots have a very good passing offense and defense, while the Wolverines are SEVERELY lacking in both these departments. Each teams ground game is middle of the road, but I think that this should be a pretty easy win in the land of Henry. I'll take the Pats by about 35.
Shadow Rattlers vs. Copenhagen Vikings
This figures to be a pretty decent game. Both teams love to air it out, and do it well, while both teams struggle to get anything established on the ground. However, the Rattlers do have the better defense here, and I expect that they will come out firing after last weeks disappointing loss to Henry. I'll take the Rattlers in a well contested game, 35-28.
Ukraine Valkyries vs. Gothenberg Geats
I hate to keep putting this down in my predictions because the Geats are so well represented in the forums, but once again this week they run into a buzz saw. The Valkyries run up 55 points, while only allowing 22.
Buffalo Buffalo's vs. Lubeck Cougars
After looking through the tale of the tape, I've come to the conclusion that the Cougars are a team that doesn't excel at any one aspect, but rather, does every single thing well. Everywhere I look I see them, but they are never jumping off the page saying "Look at me!!". This week they draw everyone's favorite opponent, and I'm sure they are licking their chops in anticipation. They'll approach triple digits, and hold Buffalo close to single digits.
South Yorkshire Scorpions vs. Koln Prowlers
The Prowlers is a team that I have a lot of respect for. They are only sporting a 2-3 record, but they have also had a pretty brutal schedule up to this point, and as soon as you take them for granted, they will pounce all over you. The only team that has really had their way with them to this point is Cancun, and that is nothing to be ashamed of. The Prowlers are struggling to get going on offense, but they certainly have no problem playing in your face defence. The Scorpions have a well rounded offense and have been able to use both aspects of it to beat their opponents this season. I expect a good game, but I expect the Scorpions to keep the goose egg in the loss column. 33-21 Scorpions.
