I look to build upon my 7-1 record from week 4 with this weeks predictions. The conference is starting to take shape as the contenders separate themselves from the pretenders. Good luck!
Zimbabwe Hyenas (4-0) vs. Rhodesian Ridgebacks (0-4)
Not much to say here really. The only question here is how much will Zimbabwe score?
Zimbabwe Hyenas-200 Rhodesian-0
Lethoso Rollers (0-4) vs. Mauritius Mountain Lions (3-1)
Both teams are coming off of tough losses against good teams and look to get back on track in this game. I expect Lethoso to come out throwing and challenge the Mountain Lions secondary. If they can avoid costly turnoevers I think they will come out with the win they desparetly need. If not, the playoffs will be a long shot for them.
Lethoso-42 Mauritius-35
Freetown Jayhawks (3-1) vs. Uganda Crowned Cranes (2-2)
I'm bias and refuse to pick against my Jayhawks again this game. If we win, there will be a big matchup against Zimbabwe next!
Freetown-55 Uganda-24
Egyptian War Gods(3-1) vs. Ethiopian Food Mongers(1-3)
Both teams didn't play as well as I expected last week. This is a tough game to pick because both teams have been in a lot of close games. I expect this one to be close as well, but I'm going to have to give the nod to Egypt...simply because they have found ways to win while Ethiopia have found ways to lose.
Egypt-28 Ethiopia-24
Madagascar Wild (3-1) vs. Savanna Pride 2-1-1)
Madagascar was the league champions in Africa A#8 for a reason, and that is they are a complete team. Savanna will keep it close most of the game with Milton Washington having another strong game, but it just won't be enough. Madagascar will take advantage of Savanna's questionable secondary and pull away in the second half.
Madagascar-42 Savanna-21
Cardiff Cobras (3-1) vs. Ivory Coast Breakers (1-2-1)
Cardiff simply has the better team in this matchup. I know it is cliche, but this game will be won in the trenches. The Cobras Oline will manhandle the Breakers allowing Frans "Die Reuse" Steyn to have a huge game.
Cardiff-35 Ivory Coast-14
P-Town Ballaz (2-2) vs. Benin Black Mambas (1-3)
P-Town looks to be much improved this season and look to establish themselves as a playoff team with a win against the Mambas. Benin only has one win against the gutted Ridgebacks and are in danger of missing the playoffs if they don't turn it around quick. This one is a coin-flip, but I think the Mambas get the victory by winning the turnover battle in this one.
Benin-38 P-Town-31
Madagascar Grand JagerMenze(2-2) vs. Michigan Nation (4-0)
This might be the game of the week as far as potential contenders goes. Michigan won the battle easily last season, but this is a different year. I think Michigan has the edge in this one since they have proved they know what they are doing when they won the Elephant Conference last season. A win today could put them as serious contenders again this season. If Mr. Muscle can avoid costly INTs I think they will be able to outscore the JagerMenze. I'm a big fan of "White Shoes", but his team needs to find a way to get him the ball in open space to have a chance.
