Maybe not the best, but he's decent and has a couple of punting trophies to his name.

Hate to burst your bubble, but punt yards doesn't = pest punter. What if his team is so good they stall say on the 40. The punt goes out of bounds at the 5. Net yards ..35. I'd take a punter who could do that any day of the week over a punter who has more points in str than vision . . . just saying. Now if you qualify it by saying best punter on a team that has a horrid offense, yeah, yards per kick mean more to them.

If your team stalls inside the 40 everytime, then your team is horrid!

The above replays show the kicks being kicked out of bounds and puttin the offense inside the 5 yard line... As well as averaging 43 yards a kick. I think that is a good qualifier.

If a kicker is kicking from the 40, and kicking into the endzone, then they will have a low yardage average...

Chris Mohrman deserves mention. He has been a damn fine consistent punter and he is a considerably lower level than any other punter with a similar punt average.

Does anyone really care who has the best punter, that is like saying i have syphilis the best of the S.T.Ds. If you have a good punter then you have a lousy team, case in point my team.
Tom Falax has to be hands down the best punter, he averages 6.5 punts a game for his career.
This season his punts have been about 50/50 out of bounds to actually in the field of play, so his average is a little down. But i say screw the average this man deserves an iron man award just for his staggering amount of attempts.
