3-0 (1-0 vs. Top 5 teams in Zeta)
Another easy win for the Pirates as they roll along hoping to find a good game at some point. Not a bunch to write about this team as the Warriors put up absolutely no fight in this one. Pirates allowed a total of 81 yards in this one while putting up 627. HB Tanks PB scored 5 TD’s in a game that only served to pad the stats. The Pirates will cruise in their next 5 games before finally getting a game when they play at the West Yorkshire Bandits.
Next game vs. #15 Trondheim Berserkir
2. (2) West Yorkshire Bandits (13-10 Win vs. Ireland Drunken Irish)
3-0 (1-0 vs. Top 5)
The Bandits are flying high after a close fought victory over the tough Drunken Irish. A game that was picked as the Game of the Week and lived up to the hype. The Bandits scored on a 2.5-yard TD pass from Lompre to InZane with under a minute to go put the Bandits ahead for first time and for good. It was nice to see a good match up as we have been waiting to see this from the top teams in this conference. The Bandits have 2 games to prepare for what may be the toughest stretch that any team has to play when they play 4 games in a row against teams that are predicted to not only be playoff teams but could challenge for the league title. This week however, they will put it in cruise control and beat up on the Wolverines.
Next game vs. #9 Wolverhampton Wolverines
3. (3) Stafford Spartans (94-17 Win vs. Arlington Sandlot)
3-0 (0-0 vs. Top 5)
Another easy win for the Spartans and they have to be asking what it takes to move up in the rankings. Well they will get their chance in 2 weeks when the go heads up with the Bandits. For now they will have to be happy with crushing bad teams and sitting at the #3 spot. Their defense has to be the one area of question in this game as they got a little relaxed and gave up 260 yards to the Sandlot which is about the same that the Aalborg Snaps allowed to the same team.
Next game vs. #14 Papa Dong’s Dragon Farm
4. (5) Chicagoo Bears (19-3 Win vs. Artic Demon Santas)
3-0 (0-0 vs. Top 5)
3-0 is the only reason I moved the Bears ahead of the Drunken Irish. They were off to a good start and still are I’m just a little less sure after a 19-3 win over the Santas. Yes, they’ve only allowed 3 points all year but a 16 point win over a team that really isn’t a playoff contender just doesn’t do it for the rankings. The Bears put up ok stats but just didn’t score when they had opportunities. They play 3 weak teams in a row so we’ll see if they can put up impressive enough stats to stay at #4 or if they will fall because of ugly wins like this one. Should be an easy game against the Sandlot for the Bears but we’ll see if they come out ready or sleepwalk through another game.

5. (4) Ireland Drunken Irish (10-13 Loss vs. West Yorkshire Bandits)
1-2 (0-1 vs. Top 5)
Even with a loss the Drunken Irish maintain Top 5 status. I couldn’t see moving them down more than 1 spot as they lost but took the #2 Bandits into the final minute with a lead and looked like an upset was about to take place. They stuck with the run all game long to keep the ball even without the great results that they are used to. The Irish have a few games to get back on track before they get into the teeth of their schedule. Certainly a disappointing outcome but they don’t need to change much going forward as they gave the Bandits all they could handle. Easy win this week for the Irish.
Next game vs. #13 Glasgow Cats
6. (6) EuroTrash Talkers (114-0 Win vs. Trondheim Berserkir)
2-1 (0-0 vs. Top 5)
Another big win for this up and coming squad of Trash Talkers. I wanted to bump them to #5 but this outcome was expected vs. a bad Berserkir squad. They scored at will and racked up 788 yards while holding the opposition to negative rushing yards for the 2nd game in a row. It is still unclear if they can play with the big boys or not but games like this go along way to proving that this team could be a sleeper come playoff time. This team plays most of it’s tougher games at the end of the season and will/should breeze this week against the Santas.
Next game vs. #10 Artic Demon Santas
7. (7) Copenhagen Hounds (98-14 Win vs. Glasgow Cats)
2-1 (0-1 vs. Top 5)
A good win that the Hounds really needed in order to get back on track. Their running game was in total control of the game as 2 RB’s topped 300 yards on the ground apiece. The Hounds defense really needs to step up though if they want to make any noise this season. They gave up 357 yards to a Cats team that is not a threat to make the playoffs or beat any of the top teams. Team owner lee hall will need to re-evaluate the defensive game plan and make some adjustments this week before they play the Irish on the 10th.
Next game vs. #12 Washington Warriors
8. (8) Aalborg Snaps (75-0 Win vs. PaPa Dong’s Dragon Farm)
2-1 (0-0 vs. Top 5)
This team could be one of the biggest sleepers in the conference. I don’t think anyone was really looking at this team but after winning a game by 75 and pitching a shutout teams will need to give these guys a look before playing them at the very least. PaPa Dong’s is certainly not a good team but the Snaps did what you are supposed to do against bad teams and that is to beat them and make it look easy. They passed very little as they ran it down the Dong’s throat (hehe) with Jason Woody who put up 340 yards and scored 7 TD’s. They get another warm up game this week against the Cavaliers and then it’s time to play the Bandits when the league will get it’s first real idea on if this team is a contender or pretender.

9. (11) Wolverhampton Wolverines (55-0 Win vs. Kickback Cavaliers)
2-1 (0-0 vs. Top 5)
A truly dominating performance vs. a really bad team in our conference. The Wolverines are led on offense by a nice runner in HB Lean Meal White who went for 192 yards in this one. It’s hard to tell how good some of these lower ranked teams are or could be until they get a good test which this team will get this week as they play the Bandits tomorrow night. It’s probably a stretch for this team to get into the 8th spot for the playoffs but not completely out of reach. They will need to have a great plan and come out focused to give the Bandits any kind of trouble.

10. (12) Artic Demon Santas (3-19 Loss vs. Chicagoo Bears)
1-2 (0-1 vs. Top 5)
The Santas have moved up a couple of spots even after losing a game and owning a sub-.500 record because of how closely they played against a Top 5 team like the Bears. In no way do I believe this team will make the playoffs you have to give them credit for battling. They will need the same or better effort in the next 2 games as they play EuroTrash as well as the Pirates in back to back weeks. The Santas have some nice players I just find it hard to believe that into the 2nd season they are still putting CPU players on the field and hoping for good/decent results. Recruiting is a pain in the ass but you have to have it if you want to compete. Most likely the Santas will fall in ranking over the next 2 games as neither game is expected to be close.

11. (9) Arlington Sandlot (17-94 Loss vs. Stafford Spartans)
0-3 (0-1 vs. Top 5)
It’s hard to find many if any good things to say about the teams at the bottom of the league and this is certainly one of them. Offense/Defense/Special Teams? It’s all a mess right now with the Sandlot. Lot’s of missed tackles, 4 total hurries, no sacks, 1 rushing TD, barely 300 yards rushing, 2 QB’s and neither can do anything, UGGH it’s going to be a long season for this rag tag bunch. I’m only interested in which of these teams will win a game and first and if one of them can beat all the other bad teams. Another big loss is likely this week as the Sandlot prepares to play the Bears.

12. (10) Washington Warriors (7-90 Loss vs. Amsterdam Pirates)
0-3 (0-1 vs. Top 5)
Another team that is struggling to put it all together. Without looking at the builds they have some equally high-level players with other teams but it just hasn’t been clicking. They have 3 scrimmages coming up soon so between those and the league games maybe they can turn this season around. They need a lot of fine-tuning as they are averaging about 10 points a game while giving up an alarming 60 per!!!

13. (13) Glasgow Cats (14-98 Loss vs. Copenhagen Hounds)
0-3 (0-1 vs. Top 5)
The Cats put up a decent amount of yards (357) vs. a pretty good team but they just weren’t able to finish off drives. Their defense was embarrassed as they surrendered 787 and 98 points is just not acceptable. Missed tackles were a big key in this game, missing 38 tackles is so bad it’s almost laughable. They will have to fix something or it’s only going to get worse against the Irish this week.

14. (14) PaPa Dong’s Dragon Farm (0-75 Loss vs. Aalborg Snaps)
0-3 (0-0 vs. Top 5)
A new team this year and it is showing. Maybe teams just weren’t ready for the competition that the rest of us got used to last season as there are to many like Papa’s Tiny Dong’s that are getting owned by anyone and everyone. I think the Snaps are better than most people were thinking but losing 75-0 is not ok to teams that are at your same cap level. 2 QB’s threw for a combined percentage of 18!!! That is really not good in case you were wondering
It’s going to be really ugly this week as they play the Spartans. It will be a test to see if they can score 1 point this time out.

The most consistent team in our league!! How can that be you ask; well when they are on your schedule just tally it up as a big fat W no matter what team you are. 17 straight losses needs to go in our leagues time capsule as it is a record that may never fall. With no weak teams in their near future this record is only going to continue to grow. Maybe they think they will get the top draft pick. J
